Rather than relying on their builds, I'd advice you to consider which relic sets are the most resin (tb energy) efficient to farm for you. Almost every character can use different sets and better substats sometimes outweigh the set bonus itself.

Yeah they're only ever doing one major event along with rehashed older events these days. The story updates in 3.x have all been 8+ hours so it's just a matter of balancing developer resources. I did enjoy stuff like ghostbusters but any combat events always get the auto treatment. All that is to say it doesn't matter personally to me, I'm just getting the enjoyment early on in the patch instead of over the weeks.

It's just a trend, Mihoyo game tend to peak early. Hi3rd and Genshin are well past their prime as well and so far the only noticeable improvement they've done in 3.X is buffing old characters. But in return, they truly doubled down on fixed team compositions with every characters needing another one that came right before them or that will release right after.

I have been trying to give it a chance because a friend is telling me they have gotten better but getting through the first arc of the story is such a slog. They wank Rover to an extent that i would rather watch a modern isekai anime since even there it feels less over the top than what Wuwa does, the combat is nice but the story is pretty fucking bad at the start and not sure if it gets better later on.

They make good use of their in game models, I'll give them that. ZZZ gets comics while the others have three stock animations in loop throughout basically every interaction. Genshin tries out new things I've heard, while for HSR it's more laziness since we did have expressive animations to some extent around launch time. I guess I've semi agreed with my first point already. Rather than whale event I'd like them to try more innovative things, ghostbusters just so happens to be the perfect example. The collab will almost certainly be part of an event but I'm not counting that. The first half of Wardance is another example of being decently innovative with fun character interactions (I'll admit Yunli by herself makes me biased) and the combat wasn't just throw the best team at HP sponges. They then proceeded to throw all that away with the second half of Wardance.
Unlike Amphoreus most of 2.x didn't have the excuse of long story offsetting it but the event drought wasn't quite this bad IIRC. My stance on gameplay should be clear by now so I don't mind less events if it's just gonna be HP bloat combat slop. If they add fun elements to it it'd be a different story.

Honestly early FGO is filled with kino. Babylon and Camelot come to mind. As long as you don’t go autistic loop brain and try to level every fucking servant and max bond. It’s the soulless grind that kills most players. Just play for the story casually. I think you’ll have a good time.
