You don't and autofill is gay since the skillset required to actually support at your current elo is a fair bit more specialized than just knowing how to play the champ. Autofill support/autofill jungle are pretty much fast ways to be losing because of how different the roles are. The ADC likely ran it if he died 12 times but a number of those would be preventable if you knew how to support better. It's not your fault though and autofill is gay, but it's a symptom of how much more early game power supports have over adcs. If you pick an engage monkey on support though usually you can keep the adc from dying

I've only really played Briar though and haven't touched the other two characters so I hope they play similar or at least have the same play pattern. I was doing the auto battler mode for a while I got a lot of free sort of icon and emote stuff, that's cool.
Out of the 10 games and doing the tutorial and a bit of playing around I sort of disagree with some of the builds and recommended setups I'm seeing online.

Lots of sites and guides seem to expect, or at least strongly infer, that Briar is supposed to be ahead by like level 4 and by that point everyone is still hugging their turrets so I'm not sure how that's supposed to work.

The build I'm using is the runes where if you hit an enemy 3 times but I kind of want the lifesteal one more, and the green tree that increases healing too.

Item builds also seem odd and weird. What have people found success with?

Hard to say since the game is very different. But the closest thing to what you're asking for is WW, he's very much a sticky nigger who does more damage and healing at lower health. Anyway I wouldn't trust too much the whole level curve since that requires you to clear efficiently enough to actually have a meaningful level advantage. Most players are going to be around where the creep equilibrium is despite the possibility of ganking unless they know you're nearby. I think you'd have a lot of fun with Mordekaiser and Darius in the jungle but they're more technical characters in terms of gameplan and needing skillshots

You probably will see a lot of different builds for Briar because a lot of items work on her, pretty much anything with health/AD/ability haste is fair game and even some items outside that criteria
But the most common and generally effective build is titanic hydra into black cleaver and then stuff like deaths dance/spirit visage/steraks/guardian angel, kinda depends on the game after your first 2 items
Sundered sky can also be good as a 2nd item if they enemy team isnt building much armor, and blade of the ruined king can be good against champs that build lots of health
But if you go the bruiser build titanic is your bread and butter, its so good for her in every way

All those items give you that and everything in your runes should be tailored to either getting healing on kill or more damage while you're low health. You want attack speed on your triumph choice (the middle left one of the yellow tree) since most of your damage comes from autoattacking. Runes will take a while to get used to but you're best off aping the highest pick rate one on some stat website like op.gg
