It's free info, possibly, on which other gens are going to pop before your first hook at the start of the game. After that everyone is ready for the oppression skill check, if they didn't pass it naturally for the first time. The regression on gens not being worked on is negligible unless survivors for some reason never touch them again. Against new players it tends to give you info and regression every time, but you were going to win anyway. I like the design of it and don't know how I would even buff it. Might do away with the cooldown entirely because you're already restricted by only being able to kick a gen that's not already regressing, and make the stupid design-throttling X/X/X do something else.

The issue is there are actually two separate Survivor playerbases siloed off from each other,

Hi bros I'm back. I've fine-tuned my strategy where I cover one entrance in traps.
>Step 1
Walk around the map collecting traps. There's an addon for this but I want to save my BP for other things. Whenever I pass by a generator being fixed I stomp it then move my mouse up and down to nod at the survivors as I pass
>Step 2
Slowly build up the trap zone at an exit. Don't panic when the first generators pop. At this point many survivors start getting curious that nobody is being chased and will come looking for the "afk" killer and follow you around. Soon they find the trap zone
>Step 3
This happens with 100% regularity every match: they cannot resist and will go to the trap zone and start disabling them. It's ok. Here I just follow them around resetting traps they disable without hurting them. It's lulling them into a true sense of security(because I'm new and bad). Also I get a lot of bloodpoints from this because the game thinks resetting traps = Deviousness category and me constantly seeing survivors = Hunter. It's very easy to actually max out Deviousness because I always get at least 2, sometimes even 3 survivors who come and reset traps, everyone's farming bloodpoints and happy. Many times survivors get so comfortable with it they actually step into the traps by accident or intentionally.
>Step 4
This is the important one. Once you think you have enough rapport with the survivors, you can hit them. Don't down them, hit and let them heal each other. You're basically communicating to them, "hey I'm chill and just want to farm objectives :D"
Start subtly guiding their positions to be close to the exit gate(and therefore surrounded by your trap zone)

Once exit gates are powered, you should have 2-3 survivors just hanging out right next to you when No One Escapes Death activates.

To answer your other question, if you're right behind a survivor who is not weakened, you should just M1. A health state is better than applying Weakened which may expire before you can deal damage. The only exception is if you're in a dead zone and would be able to land an M1 after the shot regardless of whether you hit. Then you may as well do it.
If a survivor is healthy but Weakened, it's better to shoot them if possible because it reapplies some of the Weakened and reduces the odds you'll need to Weaken them again before you down them.

The other survivors are always going to be sitting on gens, whether you tunnel the injured survivor off the hook or leave him to repair gens with Resilience while you chase a healthy survivor who is unhooked and nowhere near dead.

Sounds like a bad situation to do it then. What did I just say? There are a billion and 1 different situations that someone can find themselves in. For a few of them, chasing someone off the hook might be the best call. For others, not really.

How is that so difficult to grasp? And if you're just going for a survivor sided view, then again, it's not for survivors to tell killers how to do their job and vise versa.
