Honestly I think striders are fucking perfect. They force you into fighting them in this "sweet spot" where the cannon can't hit you, but you're in range of their gatling turrets. Granted eye shots can take them down, it'd be cool if they did that with more units. Like have a shielded unit with a shield radius of about 50 units. That you need to enter the shield and fight to take it out.

On headshots, which is something plenty of primaries already do. Stingrays aren't very tanky either. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it still has the same advantages but Squids are simply too squishy in general for those advantages to shine. You could just take a Dominator or DCS and one-shot Overseers all the same, while bringing a machinegun of some sort to deal with hordes and Fleshmobs.
You can kill a Leviathan in like 15 shots tho.

Oh no, I started bringing Railgun a lot recently if I don't have some specific gimmick in mind, don't get me wrong, but I played through the whole Super Earth shooting Squids with a Railgun and it's a really tough sell. It's especially underwhelming because Devastators and most Medium bugs you can hit basically anywhere center of mass while Overseers you have to either hit a headshot or the Elevated Overseer backpack.

The Helldivers Corps themselves are explicitly a part of Super Earth Armed Forces, just like how the Marine Corps are part of the USAF.
While not explicitly said, it is pretty much implied that they are, with the HELLDIVERS NEEDS YOU intro, the tutorial itself, the contract being designed to trap retards and filter out people with average intelligence, and repeated implications that citizens only join the Helldivers Corps in the first place to get better living situations for themselves and their families (also reinforced within the contract).

The game's lore does have a lot of holes in it, but the idea that the Helldivers are some super duper ultra elite soldiers far above anyone else is pretty much headcanon, same with them being clones.

The problem with this era is that hitting a hulk in the VENTS with a rocket did not instantly kill them, it was mega retarded.

Ideal balance:

- Hulk dies in 1 spear any angle
- Hulk dies in 1 dumbfire rocket to the eye
- Hulk dies in 2 rockets to torso/legs
- Hulk dies in 1 rocket to the vent
- Hulk gets arms blown off from a rocket

- Tanks die in 2 rockets to the front, can shoot their tracks to immobilize them
- Barrager dies in 1 rocket to the turret (cause of all the rockets)
- Tanks die in 1 rocket to the vent/side armor/rear armor

Retain feature of killing striders in 1 hit to the eye as well
Behemoth chargers take 2 rockets to kill to the head/legs, but hitting them in the ass instantly kills them (it's now a weak point)
Striders die in 1 rocket to the body or legs, but there should be more of them since they're fairly low threat and easy to dodge their attacks
Base turrets/cannon turrets remain 1 rocket to kill

Essentially this is a buff to tanks, behemoth chargers, and hulks. However compared to when the RR was dogshit, it's a buff since you can now kill these enemies in their weak points

I use RR + Grenade emplacement, works great.
You lob grenades until a heavy appears - blast it and hop back on the emplacement.
60 grenades generally lasts until next call-in if you're a bit conservative with it.

On non-defense types I just throw it down the moment I see any kind of call-in.
The only downside is that it takes too long to deploy some times so you have to be on point the moment you see a flare/smoke.

In my testing the fortified took the most, followed by prone in normal armor, and then police.

I just played an /hdg/ lobby an hour or so ago where I somewhat accidentally went solo to kill the automaton gunship fab, while the rest of the squad went to kill outposts and gather PoIs/LIDAR station. Figured I would die eventually or regroup with the team, but I ended up killing all 4 command bunkers, a mortar emplacement and 2 different gunship fabricators on my own.

The armor sets are a viable alternative to siege ready now that they got the same reload speed buff. SRs extra ammo isn't that relevant with how many ammo boxes are on the map, not to mention resupplys. Extra melee damage and limb protection are arguably better.

Why does it make people so upset that heavy units like the Bile Titan are countered efficiently by heavy anti-tank weapons?
That's literally the whole purpose of that specific class of weapon, it's stupid for that class of weapon to not counter heavy units like the Bile Titan in an efficient manner considering that they are inefficient at killing every other class of enemy.

The fact that you can kill a Bile Titan with a single Expendable Anti-Tank munition does not mean the Bile Titan is not a heavy unit, it simply means that the special weapon with a 60 second cool down specifically created to counter heavy units is balanced appropriately, and the person who has chosen to specialize in countering heavy units with a heavy weapon rather than countering chaff with a chaff clearing weapon is actually capable of accomplishing their task.

Saying that it should require teamwork to counter a heavy unit is the same as saying if should require teamwork to counter chaff, and that an individual shouldn't be a able to clear chaff on their own. It's silly.
