It's a high skill deck, but it also just had it's big pop off engine nerfed by a mana so it's a question of if it's too slow now. Imbue paladin is a bad deck that only gets by because it's brainless. If you just want to climb to legend fast and easy, rainbow menag DK is the easiest, has fast games, and is cheap.

i fucking hate how consistent this game has become, offers no real counterplay with decks running themselves. before you could portal a wisp or a deathwing. you took what you could get and used your brain to win, it's why everybody hated the original jade druid. it played by itself and ruined multiple deck archtypes. astroid shaman is a deck that keeps the original playstyle of old hearthstone in mind, randomness with control with interactivity, since controlling what spells you could draw is impossible for the deck to do consistently outside smart play. then you have drunk paladin who can tutor his own cards thrown into the deck and has a multi turn full heal and board wipe. if it wasn't for BGs I would have uninstalled a long time ago, and even then I don't have the time for it anymore

that type of card is a generic common in hearthstone. EVERYTHING you do in hearthstone plays multiple roles. takes the board back, burns face, draws cards, summons minions, gains health, sometimes literally fucking all of the above all at once. this is just how the game is supposed to be

god I just want this game to be back to square one including the players. miss when people had to actually figure out their decks and create their own instead of copying min maxed decks made hours after an expansion. modern hearthstone is absolutely different in every aspect, the players and card design being the big ones.
I've been rewatching what got me into hearthstone (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZd6AJBtUpwlDlNstIVXORA5Q3PzIDQS3&feature=shared) and it makes me yearn to go back to this, the cards were fun, you constantly thought about what you do each turn even if you're playing the same deck several times, the cards were so low powered that pure stat textless minions were seen as normal. it was fun, it was simple, and the theming was perfect since the card art was all ripped from the tcg, no skins since you always saw the same 9 classic portraits, and everything was directly based on warcraft concepts rather than putting in random modern items and jobs but magical or an elf doing it.
