She's still fighting him? I find X5 Sigma is one of the toughest versions of Sigma. Psycho Sigma is a remake of the X1 fight until he starts spamming Hellblades. The hellblades are not tough to dodge but they heavily punish mistakes with how high is the damage they cause. Final Sigma W on other hand has a lot of attacks and you have to climb the walls just to attack him and if you don't know how to handle the purple cubes near the end, he can easily kill you just at the very end of the fight.

in two weeks, that artist will reopen his commission slot, maybe I'll ask for a continuation of the Pando animation with her using a different ex-move to empty the subtanks

I don't believe pointing out BS in other boss fights makes this not BS, so much as it shows it has company.
Pulling from memory, regardless, I feel like it's comparing different kinds of difficulty. Wily 4 best to memory flickers before his hitbox activates giving ample room for reaction; Wily 7, similarly, is a very protracted fight. Gate's RNG can also be bullshit, but it's also similarly not the near-immediate fuck you of the hellblades; they deal too much damage and are released far too quickly not to be visible at all times to allow for very clear spotting for the dodging.
Admittedly, I don't really replay MM&B very much because I don't jive with its kind of difficulty, but I'd hardly give King's Plane (or the entire game) a pass if we're comparing it on those grounds - it'd just be, indeed, a case of a bad thing having company; not that X5 itself doesn't present ample company for it - Rangda Bangda can use its spike-growth on walls whenever it feels because of RNG, and at the moment you'll be hugging a wall or you'll die on the spot. If you're not somehow using Gaea, you're about to start the fight all over. While not as egregious, I'd definitely classify the Hellblades in the same boat of X5 really not thinking things through.

The point is that the Hellblades flickering is something so simple that's hardly worth mentioning, the fortress bosses having some layer of "fuck you" behind is default. Wily 4 hitbox is active even while the screen is completely dark and he can deal contact so tough luck, Wily 7 only takes 1-2 damage from every attack just so the fight takes longer. This is the stuff you should be used to when dealing with final bosses. Rangda Bangda walls can be easily avoided using any of the armors and it also happens to be weak to the most convenient Zero weapon. I couldn't even think it was that much a problem for someone before today.

Not really. You can't tell on which side will they spawn the spikes and some of the attacks will cover either the top or the bottom while they spawn, so this is even a whole lot worse than a heavily damage dishing projectile being hard to sight - it'll just reset your entire fight whenever it feels like. The only surefire way to never die is Gaea. But there is no way to limit the player to using it, especially when you can lack it when you get to that point.
The other examples may carry some degree of bullshit to them and they shouldn't be excused either, but I think X5's are much worse off.

Not always - I remember they're RNG, and that in my last runthrough I just had to luck out when they didn't come out. You don't have enough time with hover if you're using 4th or Ultimate until they disappear if they do show up; and since they're RNG, you might not bump into them in the entire fight. Being able to fire at the eye while remaining a good foothold on the wall is more important, since you can easily plummet to the spikes when the gliding time is over with any of the notGaea armors.

The last time I played X5, I died just as I was hugging the wall. I didn't understand what happened; but since the screen doesn't fade out immediately, I saw the spikes jutting out. If they were only active after fully coming out, then I wouldn't have died; they'd also blink or somesuch to indicate the hitbox is now active, but it always is. So yes, it can kill you with RNG, unless you've commited it to memory at all times, as there is no telegraph to the spikes coming out - they just do.

The hitbox isn't always active and if it blinked you would probably have issue noticing it considering you mentioned having trouble noticing the hellblade, the ones at the floor blink to show the hitbox aren't active yet but you always know its position. That boss is not the monster you think he is; it is one of the most technical fights that require all your movement options to dodge but it's not a RNG kill.

It is. The ground spikes are probably not, but the wall spikes, which is my grievance and I've constantly mentioned do. If you still doubt it, you'd have to load up X5 and allow the spikes on the side to hit you and you'd see they'd kill you immediately. The video never shows the wallspikes touching the player.
If you have no prior knowledge of this fight, the RNG has a very good likelihood of killing you.

Well, I'm definitely up for admitting the hitbox isn't active at this moment, but I've also seen how tiny they are with BizHawk, so it might be that they just weren't in touch yet, but that's honestly immaterial.
Regardless, if you don't know they're coming, you can just keep sticking to the wall and they'll manage to come in contact with X's hitbox without you even noticing, which is what happened to me when this did happen (since their position is randomized, you can't ever be sure where they will pop) so I do maintain that unless you know this is coming, you're liable to get killed. If you were on the upper top of the wall when your own video played, for instance, you wouldn't have time to slide down all the way, and you'd only feel like you NEED to dash jump forward if you know spikes must come from one side of the wall at this point; with X's sprite obscuring them as well you would only realize when you died.

If I have anything to add is that I don't think they randomly appear, from my test they consistently appear after the wall closes when the boss is below 50% health and won't reappear unless the walls open and close again. Or maybe I just didn't wait long enough for the spikes to appear but I doubt there's more than a minute apart them. Everything else is up your judgement, I don't see any problems visualizing or dodging these spikes personally.

If anything, their placement is randomized; we've seen they can show up from left-top/left-bottom and right-top/right-bottom. Even if their appearance is not randomized and they do show up in every time you fight Rangda Bangda, you're really thrown in a crapshoot whether you'll survive the first time you come up against them. If you're in the situation I was in where they spawned in the top-left, and you had no idea they were there with you on the top, they slowly slide into view and you're left with no time to react because X's sprite eclipsed them.
