What benchmarks do you guys have for a good run? I'm still waiting for my bros to get the game for multiplayer but solo I"m looking at levels normally and it's 8-9 going into the night 1 boss and then 13-14 for the night 2 boss. If my math is right being at like 9-10 at the start of day 2 means you just need to beat 3-4 formidable enemies(+/- some trash mobs) to hit level 14 for night 2 boss and 15 for the nightlord.

The Night Boss one is fine, the open world/sewer one deserves the nerf.
That faggot doesn't stagger or flinch from attacks that make enormous dragons and gods reel and kneel, and he's just one of the many dudes who have a thing for hunting down relatively helpless merchants.
Dude does half of raider's hp THROUGH retaliate, and all of Guardian's stamina through steel guard even with an upgraded shield.
Even if you get a solid win against him, you spent like 5x longer to kill him than anything else that spawns where/when he does and didn't get any extra reward for it.
Unbalanced on both a gameplay and lore basis.

Well that was one of the most insane and frustrating games I've ever had. Two randos who refused to finish a boss. They'd take it to half and then leave and run around aimlessly. Absolutely refused to finish anything. They ditched me multiple times. Kinda. I know the movesets of all the repeated bosses more but it's mostly just smaller stuff. Like dodging Loretta's arrows is harder as raider than it is with the normal dodge or whatever. I do feel like I had an actual learning curve with this game, where I had actual improvement. The last I felt that was in Dark Souls 2, in Dark Souls 3 and ER it kind of felt like the difficulty was all over the place with random "lessons" at random places while here, I had a smooth growth in skill.

On one hand you don't need to be super in depth with it. interacting with relics on a surface level will get you like, 80% of the way there
On the other hand what the actual FUCK is the point of a game like this where there's NOTHING to chase? The relic system is so weirdly implemented. 99% of the ones you get are some shit with NO synergistic algorithm. The top perk will be 3x Colossols give you more attack power then the second perk will say some shit like "increase attack power around poisoned enemies" and the third one will change your starting ash of war to rain of arrows lmao

Yes. His part in the story felt rushed, glossed over, and as an after thought compared to Messmer and the Hornsents feud, and the history of the Crucible. Miquella's companions are all one dimensional, and the inclusion of a redmane who personally met Miquella at Aeonia shatters the timeline to allow this character to conveniently decipher Miquella's intentions.
Only Ansbach, Leda, and Moore feel like full fledged characters, and Moore only because of his connection to the pests, and thus Malenia, who isn't mentioned once in the dlc, neither is Unalloyed Gold, the Haligtree, Godwyn's death, the flaws of Marika's Order and how his plan fixes them, etc
Radahn feels shoehorned. The only thing linking him to lordship is his idolization of Godfrey, the genocidal Genghis Khan of the LB. Rad imps Godfrey like a son. Godwyn *is* his son, and fought the Ancient Dragons in a war and bested the mightiest among them, and made them friends. Everything Miquella espouses in one worthy of Lordship
Godwyn died as a martyr to Destined Death. His body now lacking a soul. Convenient that the Gate of Divinity can restore a Lord's soul with a proper vessel. And convenient that Mohg's dynastic name under compulsion is Mohg-wyn. Mohg-Godwyn, his brother

All of them are good on Iron Eye. Use manual aiming while locked on to be considered walking and be constantly doing it while shooting. All of them are good on Recluse. A majority of spells are casted while walking. Guardian and Executor also walk during their ability, but it is less useful on them as they are not actively attacking like the other two. It should be useful on revenant but a lot of incants make you stop or move you.

They really missed the mark with Revenant gameplay wise. Her gimmick is that she's supposed to be the summon class but her summons are borderline useless against Nightlords, at best they're fodder to tank normal bosses for like 3 seconds. Then they probably realized that her summons were so weak that they had to make her into a caster, but just forgot to give her a way to get mana back. They should have gone all in one direction, either make her a full caster or a summon based class, and since Recluse is already the dedicated caster, Revenant should have been entirely based around her summons. For example when you summoned one of the ghosts they each had a different moveset and you could play AS them while your character turned into a ghost, becoming invulnerable and playing the harp somewhere as if she was controlling them. Each summon would have a different ultimate and you could turn into the summon that had the best ultimate for that specific situation, one of them could revive allies (as the current one does), one of them could do damage, etc.
The issue is that this would make weapons (and equipment) useless on her but they could think of a different loot system for this character alone. Either way, they could have done something really different with this character.

Like the other anon said you should actually use the bell and pick up pretty much any melee weapon to use in the start in case you run out of mana. Later on you should be looking for status weapons (any of them) so you can proc them while your summon tanks the boss then run away and cast spells.

there aren’t. the claws have s faith scaling when they should have been dex/fai split and she should have had base b dex because the way the game is set up, all of the split weapons favor str/dex and int/fai is almost always demoted to d. there are a few exceptions like sword or night and flame but for the most part, even if you see something like godslayer greatsword, it will always prioritize the physical scaling over the faith. its not like base er where there is scaling variety and nebula leans int and family heads lean dex for example

For base ER? One of the most fun I've ever had. Keep in mind that all spells are pretty much the same (animation wise) and that's kinda boring, but it's insanely strong. Probably THE strongest spell school in the game.
If you're going with it, you should look up the build that used the Poisoned Hand from the DLC to give yourself poison buffs + blue dancer charm with no equips on to buff your damage, then use Physical dragon incantations to deal absolutely ridiculous damage.
