you have to consider that being good or bad isnt an evaluation of a single metric but a bunch of them. some players are good mechanically, some are good at their matchups and knowing how their champion functions into different enemies, some are good at making macro decisions as to when to roam, when to recall, wave control etc. a player can be great at macro decisions but completely flop at controlling their champion in tense situations and/or 1v1 situations, another can be great at taking 1v1s and winning lane but once towers fall, they walk around like a headless chicken ARAMing until they either win or lose. thats why you can end up playing against people who feel oppressive in lane and sometimes you will have the most free of lanes but end up feeling like theyre not giving you any outs to use that advantage.

Mages are indeed the most flexible champs in the game. Kinda insane how many of them fit multiple roles at once just perfectly, have ways to deal with tanks, burst damage high enough to solo enemy ADC, and their kit often has some relatively low cd aoe dmg skill or two to clear camps. She isn't as easy as people say she is.
People say she is easy because her kit is simple, which does make her easy to learn conceptually.
Her gameplay can be pretty unforgiving. Her damage is entirely from skillshots so if you aren't good at hitting them you will be useless. Her skillshots are not that easy to hit against enemies paying attention or with any sort of mobility because they are very slow and easy to dodge. Compare to Xerath instant poke or Syndra QE to Lux Q.
She is immobile and squishy so if you get caught you just die. But a lot of her earlygame damage is tied up in using her passive which requires you get in close and auto which means you have to take risks and space very well. She also has pretty poor target access in bigger fights because of this despite having good range in theory.
Lux is kind of a noobtrap honestly because noobs will gravitate to the playstyle of passively spamming skills safely from far away which just sucks and is like using the champ at 30% power. She is supposed to be played as a very aggressive lane bully.

Depends how good you are at csing I guess. Csing as Lux without spells takes a bit of practice to get decent at.

Every time you base, always go towards mid first. This also means if your adc is pushing the wave to back, you shouldn't help if you want to get back in time.
Definitely roam for grubs majority of the time, it depends if the other support is an all in support, and you see them on the map/in bot then you shouldn't go.

it depends on what support you play and whether you have a roam timer or not
you can try spam pinging the wave 40 seconds before grubs spawn,it takes 8 seconds to recall + you need 20-25 seconds to reach the river
just try to crash the wave way before they spawn and ping your adc to recall or something
additionally you can type it in the chat
don't roam if enemy is slowpushing though unless you can do something about it
also don't roam if your champ is just shit without others(yuumi lol)

ideally when you recall you want to look at the map if you can influence jungle or mid
you also have to consider your adc's summoners, and enemy jungle pathing (they might give objective and dive your adc instead)

My friend, support comes straight up 2nd after the jungle by the amount of impact they're causing on the game. Not only you have to take care about your unstable ADHD minion-clicker, but also constantly fight over enemy vision and find proper windows to roam. You also will find yourself to be the one who figures enemy jungle pathing and helps out your jungler quite often.

If you can't do 3 of 4 tasks at once, it means that you're relying greatly on other teammates to perform, turning the game into a coinflip. If you can, chances are you've already won.
