Holy shit, why the fuck does anyone play this? I started playing again after a few months. Of course, the engagement-based matchmaking gives me unironically 20 wins. I was in the lowest rank of silver and I got with not a single fucking loss immediately into Platinum. Only to even there get effortlessly wins, complete stomps over and over again. And suddenly, I get four losses one after another within the same Platinum rank. Four times one after another. Can somebody please explain to me why anyone plays this engagement-based matchmaking bullshit? It's totally not crazy how suddenly I get a spidy that goes to 5-15 while the exact same enemy Spider-Man goes 18 to 2. Totally not suspicious. This game is a joke. Especially 4 times, the don't even hide it. Either you have a team or you're fucked. It's crazy how anyone can deny ebmm.

One-tricking is based. I know what I like and I stick to it. I'm dedicated to absolute mastery and expertise. When I get countered, instead of switching I will take the opportunity to learn how to work around the counter and overcome it. If I switched every time I got countered, I'd never get to play, anyway. I am in the rank I belong to according to how good I am at my hero. If I flexed just to win and rank up, I would end up getting carried to a rank I don't belong in and where I might be unable to play my main effectively. Counterpickers and flexlords are just honorless rank whores. They will never understand true dedication and sportsmanship.

Is The Thing just total dog shit right now? He is my favorite character and I think they did a good job with his theme and character design and voice acting etc. However, it just feels really miserable to play him. It feels like he is made of paper even with the leap buff for damage resist on him. Even when charging, it feels like you are made of paper. I guess all this shit is compounded when you realize that flyers are apparently the "in" meta or whatever. Is playing The Thing just suffering or am I likely a shitter? Bit of a side question, what is the optimum melee combo on The Thing? Is it two punches and a haymaker? Or just spam haymaker until they get low and then start punching? Also, Kind of wish the charge wouldn't knock people up. I find that most people get knocked up and out of the ground debuff that prevents movement skills.

strategist mains itt, who do you consider your main and who's your favorite second support to have as a teammate? i mainly play mantis and i feel like the people who flex to adam for the team-up/rez comp are usually pretty good at peeling for their other support so i appreciate having them around

I don't believe in the Engagement Matchmaking, I believe ranked in this game is competetive Mario Party in how stupid your teammates are. You guys had an iron man run free and had no competent DPS or a Mantis to take him out.

One thing I hate about ranked in this game, specially in lower Elos, is that you have to quit playing your favorite characters just to counterpick the opposing team's neussance.

Best advice for Magneto Ult is not to overthink it. It's either
A) a Counter Ult on an enemy DPS Ult.
B) Dunking on a support ult.

For A), you just need to LOOK at the enemy target first (Either you counter Punisher/Ironman directly or aim at a squishy when you hear Starlord) then you counter ult hopefully.
For B) just track the enemy healer and glance at the damage overload bar and make sure no one pops it. You actually take the heal value of Projectiles to charge so Jeff and Ultron Ult charges your ult really fast and you need to be careful with that.

You're confusing making space with Reaching that space vs Keeping that space.

Groot, Strange, Magneto and Emma* make space because they will 1vX & win most of the time if they start off in those ranges, hence you need to respect them and they make space. They are balanced by the fact that they need to waddle everywhere where so good teams will not let them close in but they will eventually reach the point and contest if no one does anything.

Emma almost fits but she has not much as much shields to survive the approach and stay on point too much and almost zero mobility so she's like a fat DPS rather than the same category as Groot/Strange/Magneto.

If you're Venom/Cap/Hulk that dived into backlines and get deleted in a 1v6, you're not making space and was just distracting abit.
If you jump in and keep their healers occupied for a good while, it's just diving, your own team usually can't benefit from the 'space' you take UNLESS you paired up with a high mobility DPS (we don't have a high mobility healer, RIP Jeff) and then you covered for them to make the kill.

Good win rate but it depends on your team and if you have dive. If your team doesn't have dive and its not in their backlines, 99% of the time if you are in a position to safely shoot the nest or Peni, you should shoot Peni cause why do you need to move into Nest range? If she ults, then see whether your team focuses her and shoot the nest to disarm her if not.

There's some diaboloical setups where she connects to you and with her 2nd nest and DPS burst you but that's rare.

you should always be trying to kill peni's nest ASAP to create space for your team but don't go killing yourself for it if it's in a tough to reach spot, if you have like a punisher/psylocke/anyone who has decent range they should be focusing it

Landing magnetos primary fire takes getting used to, same for his ult. His ult is strong but annoying because you need to track the supports, track your charge so it doesnt overload and make sure your ball wont hit terrain near you by accident.
