I've never gotten the armor critiques aesthetically. Skyrim had for me, the best looking races and best looking armor sets out of the 3 mainline games.

I feel the same, I've never gotten the praise for Bloodmoon. The main story is forgettable, becoming a werewolf is completely invalidated by getting a ring at the end of the questline that lets you turn into a werewolf whenever you want and the Raven Rock quests are often waiting around for things to happen. The only plus is the environment which is a nice change of pace even then you're just constantly fight absurdly overleveled plague bears and spriggans. Every time I replay Bloodmoon I am reminded why a bit of level scaling isn't bad. Also the last quest with all the insane werewolves is just pure cancer.
