You can coat that weapon with ghost flame. When I used that, I'd swap ghostflame and regular flame with the relic back and forth to get frost proc'd more. Usually I leave the proc on for the defense debuff but I said fuck it and use what I've got since that's what the game is about, and it worked pretty well actually.

you press block, and if you do it at the right time it becomes "deflection", which means you damage enemy posture.
if you block "too early", it becomes simply a regular block. you take no health damage, but posture damage. and to "heal" posture damage you just have to sit back and hold your guard and it disappears in 2-3 seconds.
the "real" parries are mikiri counters for enemy thrust attacks, and jumping over enemy sweep attacks.
both of these have a visual/audio red alert.
imagine having dark souls alert you of when you need to press the parry button to parry, and calling it hard.
if you beat malenia and radahn, you can very easily beat sekiro.
