Unrelenting Spirit only procs when he gains his savage tigermarks and Overheat when he spends all of them, on top of that Overheat lowers his coin power and needs him to have spent a fuck ton of bullets for HP% based conditionals.

His passive gives him damage when he spends bullets yes but that's it, that's his only accessible and mostly always online damage conditional.

i always try and do a Canon base sinner run of each canto, but the constant power creep and the balance around it makes it hard

I feel like you DON'T want Sinclair on the field or benching for Meursault. Instead, you want Meursault to enter Shin and Overheat mode as fast as possible, and gaining ammo will make him exit those modes.

Also while a bit more of a nitpick I don't know how much I like speed difference based damage conditionals on units without haste, Unrelenting Spirit raises his speed range and enemies are generally slow but its inconsistent enough to irk me when enemies decide to start rolling 5-6 speeds.

Do we have any guarantee that Regret'll work with Meursault's 3-2? It didn't with BLsault but that was because it was worded as 'use 3-2 after losing a clash'. Regret targets 'the leftmost skill on the dashboard', which 3-2 would still technically be. 3-2 is worded as 'ACTIVATE', so I'm hoping that it is compatible.
Problem is though, I ran the math and it's kind of fucking insane. Assuming you have the X burn/tremor conditional, the 'for every X' conditionals are always capped at 2 in modern ID design. So that and Regret is adding +4 coin power to a 5 coin skill. Even if the skills' numbers were WORSE than LCB Meursault's Des Coups, you're getting 30 fucking power at base already. (assuming 4 base and 5 coins at 1 power, that's already 30 power by itself if you setup Regret and Capote beforehand.) That's absolutely insane and blows Rip Space out of the water especially in tandem with Rodion 4MF.

It depends. There are some cons to using him in burn

MD is where Philclair is best though. He can start from 45 SP and immediately use his enhances skills instead of spending turns build up like other IDs. Yi Sang's passive is active from the start, giving more SP and you have EGO gifts which give him even more SP.

When you include all the passives, buffs, and the like you are doing 0 damage and he is doing 152 damage so when you look at the top its your HP that is going to 0 on the combat preview. Kinda like how this game doesn't take into account paralyze running out before the rest of the coins and thinks you have infinite paralyze. The games don't take into account that for whatever reason

I realized that the numbers weren't adding up, and it turns out the Fox was not the best boss to test this theory on because killing umbrellas gave Haste that Sault otherwise wouldn't have gotten via the EGO. Capote only gives 2 Haste versus the Corroded Regret's 3 Bind. This lowers your speed by one, which is fine. This should hamper him down a little bit, but we don't know how fast Lei Heng is.
We could, in a most ingenious act, give him a third slot by pairing him with one other sinner and have him use Chains of Others, with all these buffs he gains counteracting the self-debuff of Chains of Others. But that is incredibly fucking stupid and this trick would probably be best used in situations where he would gain Bind from an enemy.
