Mulcharmies, when timed correctly, basically guarantee a draw (Meowls is the exception but it becomes much more powerful against specific decks). They end up replacing themselves and put the opponent in a similar fucked situation as Maxx C.
The problem boils down to the fact that holding back isn't really an option most of the time, because forbidding yourself from doing aspects of your combo puts you in a weak position, which the opponent is basically going to immediately exploit.
Ultimately my point is this: Turnskip handtraps, like the Mulcharmies or Droll etc., are not tolerable in a world where you have 1 turn to not lose. That turns it from a turnskip to a gameskip

Right now id say you mainly just want to play decks that even if they can access bigger combos, can also instantly pivot to midrangey/ control playstyles under the charmies and you should fully expect to always play the majority of your matches under some of these restrictions, so get ready to summon just a few times and search some archetypal backrow interactions to prevent your opponent from instantly killing you, not from them playing at all and instascooping

There is no card fix to this problem, we need a rule change to not allow you to die immediately in 1 fucking turn. A few good ideas have already been thrown out so I won't go into them again but ultimately the problem is, you don't get another fucking turn to come back from these turn skips, you just lose. Monsters are too big, life points are too low. Any skip is a death sentence.

Increasing the LP with no compensation just results in more games going to time. OTK decks are linear and live or die whether or not their line was interrupted.

Herald of Ultimateness is a high Level Ritual, with a powerful effect that can negate many things, but its also balanced by having less ATK than a regular boss monster. It's meant to be hard to reach but defensive.
Meteonis ignores the high Level and BENEFITS from the lower ATK, so they just don't give a shit.

I brought up a comparison to Yummy, Rokkets, and Orca of Darkness or whatever but I realize Regenesis is also somewhat comparable given the 3 Stage Landing to Regenesis's HOPT E-Tele and Searcher, and the main deck monsters serving as interactions but even something like Regenesis reads a lot better given the recursion effects and having a Trap BoM/Soul Charge, I imagine R.B. is getting at the very least a monster negate and an additional form of quick effect interaction (maybe some sort of DD Crow, BoM, Compulse) but the deck absolutely needs main deck engine monsters for its second wave, as neither link target is exactly optimal off Stage Landing

I really fucking dislike Konami purposefully making splashable engines, I much prefer it if the cards were permanently locked to their own archetype and activating anything would lock you into "only fabled summons for this entire turn" stuff.
At this point some decks can splash so many things it feels like fighting a hydra. You negate or destroy a part of an archetype and it doesn't matter much because they have more game plans in there, in fact the first plays were probably bait.
I mean since being kids we obviously tried to mesh the cards that fit the best, but it was more honest and skilfull back then.

Heres the truth about a good chunk of people who dedicate their lives to playing this game at a competitive level. They don't want a diversity of decks, they want to limit it to 1 deck so they can always be ready for any match. It's why stuff like Maliss, Floo, Mertail and so on and so forth get hate from these people. Decks that require you to give up a silver bullet just in case you face them means you have to think more about your plays.
Limiting generics very much filters more and more decks out of meta relevancy and makes sure rogue and pet decks will never show up in any meaningful capacity to endanger their lack of forethought to unexpected match ups.
