What a disappointment this was. Pointless routes. The game feels unfinished. All these great heroines but only the sister has had any real focus. Well that and Natane.
It had flashes of brilliance in the writing - the great parts are truly great - and it feels like *something* is there, but there just isn't enough of it. If only it felt like a finished work..

The story, in general, sometimes feels like it was written by someone who make fanfics on Wattpad, given how cringe and edgy the protagonist can be at times. Have you guys seen those videos of "How to become emotionless"? The protagonist is like that, but ten times worse, delivering these "truths" about society in the most cringe-worthy way possible. Not only did his attitude and the way he was written make it impossible for me to feel any kind of sympathy for him or the heroines, but also the way the characters seemed to react to his behavior felt kind of unnatural. Honestly, I didnโt understand how these characters could have been friends with a jerk like the protagonist. Iโm not joking when I say that the best character in this game is the dog.
Another thing to mention is that, despite liking when any kind of media touches heavy topics like depression and suicide, Tenshi no Inai does this only at a surface level. Itโs not that Iโm not okay with that, but I feel that Tenshi no Inai could have done this better if it had lasted longer. Not just that, but it could also have added more depth to some characters, like Asuna, whose best-friend dynamic with the protagonist comes out of nowhere when we take into account that these two just met.
Even though the story and how it was developed wasnโt my cup of tea, I liked that the endings donโt give you any kind of hope for the character's future and are left open. Considering the mood of this story and the way it treats human relationships and mental problems, itโs good that it didnโt try to sell you the idea that with some effort and love, everyone can become a better person, because reality isnโt that simple.

Got to the court room scene near the end of episode 5. It feels stupid and contrived, LD and Bernie bitched about how contrived Battler's explanations were at the end of 4 then proceeded to railroad 5 to hell and back, goddamn they're shit at this game.
I'm really really grateful to this novel for introducing me to Rosa, Natsuhi and Bernkastel. Beatrice is kinda boring.
