My brother in law is a massive mtg fan, every second Saturday he plays in person in the lhs and spends almost all his free time playing it on his phone.

My missus and I hosted over the Easter weekend and they were still here till monday arvo when everyone else had left. I was painting my krieg and greenskin kill teams and he was checking out the paraphernalia sitting in my office with me and would not stfu about how 'dark' and 'boring' 40k is.

He insisted 40k could 'grow' and get more popular by having hello kitty marines and constantly tried to show me cuddly animal magic card artwork. He would not stfu about how final fantasy cards were coming out etc. I got the shits and told him, once again people have painted their own models all kinds of ways and that is perfectly fine and even lore friendly as long as you structured your 'faction' by the custom faction TT rules for gameplay reasons.

Was not good enough. He wants official art and lore to turn into teletubbies like mtg otherwise its "just not very appealing". I told him to look up GW's earnings report and he still shrugged his shoulders and doubled down on his bullshit. Literally the type of retard AoS was supposed to pull in, and failed.

how long does it take to get all 8 books? The Ire of Khorne ability could make it worth waiting it out for low-income factions, as long as it doesn't take too long, flat 10% upkeep reduction is no joke. Bonus vs Khorne factions is good in some situations as well.
I don't really see a use for the Burning Books though, unless you are doing a meme army for free SEMs or something.

What? The axe of grimnir has quite a few useful effects like reduce upkeep and increase post battle loot. Those alone makes it more useful than say, Astragoth's black hammer of hashut that only gives +1 control, some weapons strength to Astragoth only and a meh bound ability.
Worst is porbably Tretch's item. You have to be losing a fight for it's effect to be active.

-5% upkeep on a single army is fuck all. If you had a 5000 upkeep army it's just 250 gold a turn, it's like having one additional low tier minor settlement. Dwarfs have one of the lowest post battle income coefficients so that's not great for them either. And then as an actual weapon it's worse than a common item.
