They're extremely broad definitions. There are plenty of "supporters" and "defenders" whose primary function is to deal damage, like Summer Anis and Cinderella. Likewise, there are plenty of "attackers" whose main function is to support, like Privaty and Helm.
I wouldn't read too much into their class/roles. They're just a way to make use of the various armor types so that you don't need a hundred attacker armors while having an excess of a hundred support and defender armors.
