When the Si, Mao, or Adept are on the field; he gets to use his Shin/Mang skills which are great for activating all deathrights and scale off the number of deathrights in play. Meeting certain conditionals for this skills will send the si, Mao, or Adept back into the backline.

Discard IDs basically work by discarding from the skill deck, meaning the deck cycles to a fresh one faster. This is also why IDs like Molar Outis are insanely strong since you effectively have no dead turns where you use a shitty s1 unless you get insanely unlucky.
Defending or using an EGO cycles out the bottom skill which is useful if you want to burn dead skills and why clashable counters are really strong a lot of the time since you can replace a s1 with something stronger.
