Same reasons really. She gets to ignore all 3 of your weapon rolls, and any annoying modifiers like -75% energy.
The only down side is using your 'flex' slot in ETA kind of hurts, since you want the 9 pix chips for not flexing. But since only two of the arcanes (a total of 10 pix) are worth buying, you'll eventually bank up enough extra pixs to be able flex every now and again.

Hildryn can shield gate level cap near brain dead if you use Primed Redirection, Primed Vigor, fast deflection, vigilante vigor, fortitude, arcane aegis and arcane nullifier.
Oh and top it all off with sentinel using guardian.
This gives you around 1200 shield regen per second after the 0.2 second delay.
Which gets you the full gate duration back pretty much instantly.

Merulina is shit for 95% of the tilesets. You lose Helminth subsumes, primary and melee, warframe movements and interations. It's fine for open worlds without doubt, everywhere else it's a hindrance, She's one of my most used frames, I've tried to get Merulina to work, sadly it needs a major overhaul. Loyal Merulina was a god-send.

She has many tricks up her sleeve. Play with the Kompressa and Surging Blades and you'll see what I mean, she's a beast, with super high survivability into level cap, my go to frame fro SP Cascade 107+ exo's.

I use Merulina Guardian cuz the firerate increase goes great with my Sporelacer and I like the status immunity.

Enough strength (200 iirc) for her pillage to reach 50% so you can cast it twice and strip the enemy of all shields and armor. The next breakpoint is at 400 for a one cast full strip.
Range is up to preference. You need a little for pillage to function and you can pump it a lot for your exalted to become a handheld nuke with ennervate on it.
You're gonna generally build around a subsume otherwise because people either forget haven exists or consider aegis storm a liability and rarely is there a player that enjoys using both.

It isn't that bad unless you get bad luck cosmetically, you revive four vulpaphyla or predasites at Son with the different pairs of Mutagens/Antigens. Level them up to 30, Gild them, take all of their Genetic Codes with Templates, once they're 0/2 or 0/3 you can release them for 15 Son tokens (to keep this disaster going). Incubate a Kubrow or Kavat with two different codes, this'll get you a new predasite/kavat with both genetics. Do it again with the other set of genetics. Level those new animals to 30, Gild them, take their imprints, release them. Incubate another kubrow or kavat with those new combined genetics, and the final one will inherit all four of the mutagens/antigens, and randomly inherit one of the parents' appearances. That's where I got hung up, because it just wouldn't stop inheriting the one with weird fuckin flesh strings all over its face. As a warning, all this really does is save you forma, because the animal will inherit a ton of polarities. The inherited defenses aren't even remotely noticeable and my predasite still immediately dies if he steps on corrosive puddles in 1999 without overguard xd

What's stopping you from using both, they're very different play styles. Loyal Merulina with Surging Blades and the Kompressa is a way more active and fun play style than Nezha, which I tend to tire of more easily, though I do use him quite a lot too, just not half as much as my girl Yareli, she excels at any content at any level.
