Modern gacha game characters usually have way too many details for artists to be able to comfortably draw them, all 4 of the big earning gachas have this problem but we can use a Wuwa character for this, just look at Roccia for a nice example, sure she's cute but look at all the absurd details you'd have to take not of while drawing her, heterochromia, different colors of hair, unique hair style, circus clothes. Compare that to blue archive for example which has ridiculous amounts of fanart and they're still growing somehow, this character right here has barely any details that really set her apart from someone you'd see on an anime yet I've seen so much art of her doing all kinds of things. Writing is also a big part of it, aside from Carte, characters in this game don't really get a chance to leave a deep impression on your heart or cock since they leave too quickly and the events are more about combat than getting to know them

Arknights is an outlier on many aspects, to me its more of an exception to the rule than anything, most artwork I've seen of AK is also focused on just the cool factor, its not really because of their characters but instead because of lore and how cool they look. Its the only gacha I've seen where one of the playable female characters turned out to be a mother and have had sexual intercourse before and nobody said a word about it, just imagine what would happen if someone like that released in literally any other gacha game with waifus as a marketable trait. But maybe I'm overreacting to what I think are what makes you succeed in the industry. Maybe its really more on the writing than anything else, I don't think artists would shy away from drawing a character with many details if said character left a really big impression on them

Wuwa's story is just very straightforward, very little fat on the bones. it was made to tell a story first and foremost, not necessarily try to inspire shipping wars or various same sex relationships. Despite the gooner reputation, the game funnily enough treats its characters with enough sanctimoniousness that it feels a bit off-putting to see purely lewd art of say characters that arent' obviously coded for sex like Canta/Cammy. Even then, if you played their side stories, it's less "haha sex jokes" and more of a true love feeling.

They decided to put a lot of the wyverns together to try and get them to do the gimmick attack, every single warrior can summon their own Pokemon so that doubles the encounters, and the priests are always in groups of 3-8. That's why it feels like there's way more stuff to deal with.

The higher tier priests also have attacks that cover huge parts of the fight with the bubbles and their coral attacks so that probably leads to it feeling like there's more to deal with than usual since those take a long time to disperse.
