How much transferable skills does World have from Wii and MK8DX? A lot of the content folk who did MK seriously in the past are already in the 9K's, while I stopped playing MK8 years ago and have been struggling to stay in the 8400-8500 range recently and frequently drop below that.

This looks exactly like the previous mario kart to me but there's more to it, like bigger world, more details, more stuff going on. Visuals themselves don't really impress at all. I felt this with the DK game trailer, like there's more tech it's able to handle now rather than "wow this looks so much better!". Is it base ps4 levels? I don't know. I'm put off by the prices big time but I'll probably end up getting one when the new version drops and more actual exclusive games are out. Piss poor launch, insane prices and it still sold a ton because nintendo, I guess.

Adventure mode in Melee and Brawl wasn't just a shit version of events like it is in Ultimate. But despite being a shit version of events, I still can't really count it as an events mode like in Melee-Smash 4 because it was essentially just special battles.
All Star isn't that bastardised version that's just multi-man Smash.
The closest thing to a minigame in Ultimate is timing your button press to get a spirit on the spirit board, which doesn't even count as a game like snag the trophies or coin launcher from Brawl. There's also no break the target mode at all, not even target blast.

Another reason I don't think this is a prequel is because outside young Pauline, nothing about this game implies this is a prequel.
