Llama 4 scout is very cheap but also very slop. You need something like "please continue the story" in front of your prompt to use it as story telling.
Llama 4 maverick is a bit more expensive than qwen3 235B while being much sloppier. Won't recommend.
Llama 3 series and its fine tune are reliable, but newer, smaller, cheaper models (ex. deepseek finetune, qwen3, mistral small, etc.) exist and perform better imo.
I don't like how mistral models write but you should try it yourself.
Deepseek ones are on expensive side. IMO, for storytelling, the extra intelligence isn't worth it since you write in smaller chuck than chatshit, this means you can edit the model output earlier.
