I agree that she's not a super deep character but from the bits and pieces we do see of her throughout superstars and the supplementary material she has the appeal of a very sweet and tender person that's thrust into a situation she isn't prepared to handle and has to learn to fight for herself. I do wish she was developed more but you could say the same for a lot of sonic characters. I can see why a lot of anons don't like her and that's totally fine, but I still do regardless. I also think the dynamic with Fang could have been handled differently, part of me kinda wishes she became a member of team hooligans as a voice of morality that could play off Fang, Bean, and Bark' shenanigans. That would have been more interesting than just making her another temporary ally to team sonic only to be thrown by the wayside after the game.

You're not going to get stuff like the Adventure or Storybook games from Boom or AoStH, and although Fleetway has some of that edge to it that Boom or AoStH lack, it also misses the mark with how it handles Sonic specifically, and if you put Fleetwaynic in the games things would be wildly different.
That being said, I'd love to see an OC that acts like Fleetway Sonic, since I feel like he'd make for a neat story.

Sonic Gens is 1440p 60fps docked and 1080p 60fps portable
Shadow Gens is 1080p 30fps docked and portable or 720p 60fps docked and portable. Both modes are using FSR2 since no in house Sega engine supports DLSS.
This port is similar to Forcers where there’s headroom not being taken advantage of and it was clear they focused on getting it out fast than doing it right.

Eggman doesn't fight from the heart for reasons larger than himself, he fights to slake his ego and prove himself to all the idiots in the world that fail to accept his genius.
Metal Sonic is a perfect example of Eggman's view on his rivalry with Sonic. Eggman didn't choose to counter Sonic by making something to nullify his speed, he chose to build something to challenge Sonic's strongest ability in order to prove that he could beat him at his own game. The result is a heartless machine with no purpose or dream other than to prove itself, without any real soul inside its core.
If Eggman threw away his pride and just started living a humble life just for the fun of it, he'd actually be more of a match for Sonic than he is now. But that would mean he'd have to live more like Sonic, and Eggman would NEVER accept that.

The biggest thing that hit me is how they handle Yuta vs IDW's OC parade. Yuta is written as a one-shot companion character who gets swept up in Sonic's world, learns something, and that's it. He's not trying to be the next permanent addition to the Sonic cast like every IDW character desperately wants to be. Meanwhile IDW keeps shoving Whisper, Tangle, Belle, Surge, Kit and all these other forgettable furries at us like "please care about our OCs, they're totally gonna be in the games guys!"

And holy shit, Sonic actually feels mysterious and cool again instead of this relatable therapy hedgehog bullshit. The manga treats him like this enigmatic force of nature who shows up, does weird endearing shit like randomly cleaning train windows, and inspires people just by being himself. The story structure is pure kino too. It runs on coincidence and random encounters, which is exactly how Sonic stories should work. These characters are supposed to be free spirits having adventures, not military operatives following Restoration protocol. IDW is so obsessed with explaining why everyone is together and justifying every action through their stupid organization that it sucks all the magic out of it.

It's literally written like a Doctor Who companion introduction story and it works perfectly. Sonic shows up in someone's normal life, takes them on an adventure, changes their perspective, and moves on. That's the formula! You guys don't get it. The best way to use Tangle would have been to make her Sonic's companion, straight up Rose Tyler-style.

Think about it. Sonic is the Doctor. He's a weird, ancient, nomadic hero who is basically a force of nature. You can't really write him as a relatable protagonist because he doesn't change or have normal character arcs. He just shows up and makes the plot happen to other people.

That's where the companion comes in. Tangle is perfect. She's the normal person from a nowhere town who gets swept up in the adventure. She can be the audience surrogate, asking the questions we're all thinking. "What's a Chaos Emerald?" "Who's that Shadow guy?" She provides the normie perspective. She can have the character arc that Sonic can't.

It would have solved all her problems. Instead of being glued to Whisper and forced to be her therapist, she could have been off seeing the world with Sonic. She'd get to interact with the whole cast, have fun, and be the energetic adventurer she was meant to be. It would give the stories a proper anchor and let Sonic be the cool, mysterious hero without having to carry the whole narrative on his back. It's such an obvious and winning formula, but instead they stuck her in a dead-end pairing.

Ian and Evan created an entirely new generation of Sonic fans who like completely different versions of the character. Whenever I see youtubers mention IDW characters these days you can tell they don't actually read the comic or know what the fuck happens in it, they only care about the designs of OCs like Surge and the idea of what she could be.
