Sonic Adventure 2 was kino. Sonic's swan song.
Sonic's songs from this game are all about the beauty and joy that comes with finding peace in the present moment, whatever that moment may be.
A lot of Shadow's lyrics had to do with how conflicted he feels. Even in his theme, "Throw It All Away", it comments on how, even if he is immortal, it doesn't matter and he would rather throw it all away because the life itself is meaningless.
In Rhythm and Balance, White Jungle stage where you have to save Rouge before the island explodes, the song asks over and over if Shadow is scared, once again that if he fails, he will lose yet another person close to him.
In the Supernatural, Final Chase stage, the song starts asking if Shadow is even the Ultimate Lifeform to begin with as he gets closer to Maria's "dream." Emotions and rational thought out the window, questions of who he is, why he is doing this, what Maria promised, it all funnels into one big cyclone of uncertainty.
The Biolizard is Shadow's swan song. "Supporting Me" sounds just like the title, Shadow has finally given up revenge and learned that he wants to protect the world but he doesn't really know how to do this. He will do everything in his power, knowing that Maria is supporting him in order to fulfill her last wish, even if it means his untimely end, which the song references at the end of the song as well.
And of course, Live and Learn. Pretty explanatory, but it's learning to live with your mistakes and to keep moving in life even if all seems lost.
Shadowโs last line is โMaria: this is what you wanted, right? This is my promise I made to youโฆโ He saved the Earth for Maria. This was a place that she thought she would never be able to find.
Shadow's story was unironically a great lead up from a broken individual lead on by hatred to one of redemption, giving his life to the ones he tried to destroy in the first place. We really won't have kino like this again, but at least its here.

Sonic Battle does a really good job at demonstrating the whole conundrum around how Shadow views himself, as well as the nature of weapons in general.
I just seen the design before but I never took the time to watch the "Dear Sega" video until now. It's both hilarious and embarassing that kinda makes me feel bad for the guy too since he wiped it out from his own channel. It's a really weird watch since everything is so well edited and obviously putting hours to research an do art for the video but a lot of the points are just insane. I don't think is malicious even though it kinda feels like it at times but I just think the guy was kinda misguided and being a bit of a retard while making it, like being unable to hear what was coming out of his mouth was stupid.

Shadow doesn't care, and he avoids Sonic at every chance he gets. The whole thing is one-sided, and it's clearly not a real rivalry when compared the Sonic's ACTUAL rivals.

I grew up with Sonic, but when I saw Shadow's running animation in SA2 at the store I just thought damn. He's like Sonic, but way cooler. I like both of them now, but I have a preference for edgier characters.

battle is clunky to me, but I can see a fun game there
really don't like how you can't seem to tell how many points a skill is so I have to just guess what I can equip at any time
advance 1 was okay up until angel island and then all the shit I heard about dimps games is shown to be very true; very exasperatign to play, reminded me of playing thorugh labyrinth zone or scrap brain act 3 the first time without using the skips, especially considering the controls felt sluggish to me as if you were in a water level of the classic games
will give battle some more of a try, the back to back rematches and shit hamper the fun tho
might try advance 1 some more but i was really unimpressed
