I don't actually understand if you've played Firebreak or not, but just to clarify. The progression ends up feeling nothing like Helldivers 2, like at all, neither in gameplay options or in progression. Firebreak desperately tried to copy Helldivers' model, but Helldivers first free warbond is huge, includes tons of cool armor, tons of weapons and other options, and there is also progression outside of that through levelling and collecting samples that feels meaningful because they are big upgrades. HOWEVER, the shit you get at the start of Helldivers 2 is useful, and what you see is what you get.
Firebreak has a pathetic variety of weaponry including in the BP, a pathetic variety of cosmetics, a pathetic variety of build options and the weapons you start with or unlock are also shitty versions of what you can get. This makes the initial 3+ hours of the experience really frustrating.

This is also made worse by the mission selection in Firebreak essentially being 5 different 20 minute missions, with a forced requirement to play only a bit of the level before you're allowed to repeat but with the next part added which creates a bad first experience.

Really enjoying it, even though it's bare-bones. I really do wish it was cheaper though.

All his keystones are good, Indomitable and Taunt are good, at least 4 of his firearms are viable in high Havoc (more than any other class LOL) and every one of his melees is great, and all his keystones are great. leviathans are stupidly designed to me, but not for the reasons /hdg/ melts about.
they just kind of exist and arbitrarily decide they're going to oneshot you, at pretty inconsistent ranges.
HOWEVER they're also really, really easy to kill if you actually your stratagems and it's satisfying to see them die. Point of fact, every /hdg/ lobby I joined someone always was willing to team up with a recoilless rifle to gun down any that started drifting too close. I legit think that half of /hdg/ doesn't even play the game and is just there to shitpost because the complaints about them being too tanky are absurd.
Where I differ with /hdg/ is that I would actually prefer them to be actual rape machines that turn from passive scenery into hunter killers once they've spotted a player, maybe with the new searchlight mechanic they just added for them. Right now they just... EXIST.

They have a respawn timer. There are infinite respawns but there's a limited number of them that can spawn at once and they trickle into the map one at a time. Furthermore they spawn at the edge of the map, they're really slow, and their flight paths are completely random (they can actually spawn, immediately turn, go out of bounds and despawn again). Killing one is effectively the same as killing any other patrol.
There's absolutely a point to killing them if they're headed your way or the "fans" of the game wouldn't be melting about being instagibbed by them literally 24/7. The reason they're killing anyone at all is because the same person has this cognitive dissonance of "what's the point i'll ignore it lol" and "WOW DUDE I JUST GOT INSTANTLY KILLED UHUHUHU NOTHING I COULD DO DUDE"

And I mean it's fucking easy, man. You ignore the ones that look like they're going to slowly meander away, and BTFO of any that look like they're going to be a problem. I feel like Perfectionism on Disrupt Destiny is never worth it. The 4 second decay per stack is difficult enough as is to keep 15 stacks, let alone 10 stacks. You also have to fight your teammates to kill marked enemies because last-hit mechanics are the pinnacle of game design.

They could do anything to the middle tree to make it worth going through. There's also the extremely worthless grenades vs knives which could be easily fixed by making immolation grenades regen through flame crit kills or some other fire synergy.

Stunstorm grenades should work on impact like the new Arbites nades but also give a crit multiplier debuff instead of just negating all the Zealots abilities like a handheld perfect strike debuff. Making you still proc your talents with it instead of being smite-lite.
I guess Arbites mines will fill that niche making Stunstorm even worse but I think if they were a debuffing nade instead of a crowd control nade they would fit the Zealot better.

Reminder that the leaked Plasma and DS changes are not going through as written. Those patch notes were UNINTENTIONALLY leaked, despite being fully written down and seemingly ready for release, which likely means that they initially thought of releasing those changes on the 23rd and yet went back on the idea because they were uncertain of it, and seemingly have every intention of messing with these weapons more before the full release.
And furthermore, now that the community has seen these changes in paper, a loud number people and chinese aren't happy. So, the changes that they will come up with will end up much more minor than shown, most likely.

Not that mobility is particularly important either, but I definitely feel a difference with the moving crosshair bloom. I found the brittleness and bleed bolter to be the best with carapace and unyielding, sucks missing out on pinning fire but you still one shot head shot all the specials and gunners with your marking buffs, and it lets you 2 - 3 shot crushers depending on crits and devastate bosses. I've played around with blessings for a bit. Bleed is strong, but I haven't noticed that huge of an impact on monstrosities. It's quite nice for certain breakpoints, but I can already reach them with a good talent build.
Brittleness is very, very good for magdumping, but I'd rather crit fish with headshots, which yields roughly the same results as brittleness does, from my experience.
Surgical + pinning fire allow for a couple of bodyshot breakpoints which is part of why I'm using it. Obviously, yeah, go for headshots idiot, but I won't claim that my aim is always perfect, especially in a hectic situation.
I would assume bleed is still going to be better in havoc, but I have no intent on bringing veteran into havoc, it's just so fucking boring to be the grenade bitch.

Oh I was speaking more for havok, bosses get a bit chunkier so the bleed gets a chance to add up more. I usually just say fuck it and body shot things when the mission is going sideways too, the initial two shots of hip fire are super accurate so it’s great for quickly mowing down specials. Man I love bolter vet. But yeah vets not bad in havok but you have to play so carefully that it can get stressful with shit teams and you’re fucked if you need to try and clutch something whereas a zealot or ogryn at least have a bit of a chance. Definitely try the reworked toughness regen when you haven’t been hit by a melee attack though, it’s one of vets strongest survivability skills now.

They're both good but have different uses. The VI is definitely better to focus a build around, but VIII has easier and thus arguably better horde clear on builds that want nothing BUT horde clear.
