first and foremost, i apologize for double posting some of the pasta.

Steven here is too on edge for his own good. sure, a meeting with your boss isn't always pleasant, but shouldn't he be a little more empathetic? the dude's son just fucking died, and prior to the gunshot sound, the only "unsettling" thing should have been the inhuman sound. an IT guy should have taken that as a sign that the computer is infected from the get-go, and since he was slightly inebriated and mentally preoccupied with his earlier meeting, could have chalked it up to the PC speaker. seriously, how are folders in all caps off-putting? they're not. i guarantee you most people have at least one folder that is all caps.
second, the story is too rough of a draft to even be considered a proper story, evident by the very brief dialogue between Derek and his bong tormentor.
last but not least, a little more closure surrounding Steven's continued employment would have been nice at the very least. he could have switched jobs, if the author wanted to keep the pasta short.

While the channel's profile picture gave me severe red flags, the contents of the video was surprisingly well done, aside from some hiccups, like the long ass intro and the unfunny jokes.

But the reason people dislike self-inserts is that the concept is used by less experienced authors as a crutch for a story. You can see this is fanfiction (for example, power fantasies) by utilizing pattern recognition.

But it's not the root of bad stories, merely a cause.

The contents presented in the article itself are so specific to American internet culture (Mostly tumblr, but you get the point), and not something that will survive the flow of time. I watched this video about this FNaF VHS series called the Twelveman Tapes and it was some of the funniest shit ever
The whole plot is that William Afton poisons the food and gives kids tapeworms instead of dressing up and luring them into the backstage to strangle them, and the first episode is this House MD style drama where these doctors are giving CT scans to nine year olds and finding brain worms and shit, every once in a while just namedropping "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza" and completely taking you out of it
one of the kids wakes up while he's in the machine and fucking dies or some shit and a ghost face appears in the xray scanner
Afton gets arrested by the FDA and only gets sentenced to one year in prison so people start rioting and burn his house down and lynch someone (yes this is real) and also the series supposedly takes place in the same universe as the Walten Files for some reason
Later episodes reveal that not only was Afton genetically modifying tapeworms to put in the pizza, he was also running a fucking Pizzagate setup where he kidnaps kids and deep fries them and sells the mctoddler nuggets to specific clients or some shit, and there's a recorded phone call between him and one of his accomplices where it becomes a Breaking Bad episode where he's shitting bricks trying to figure out how to dispose of the evidence

Hello! I have not posted an OSF status update in months now, so I'll start doing that again. I plan to have SBZ actually finished by Friday. Right now I'm fixing some bugs caused by another (yes, ANOTHER) physics rework. It's very tiresome, but I'll have this done today.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, unless you mean Fingerbones. In terms of game development, it's been Fingerbones and a different original game I started working on about a month ago (a first-person sailing horror game I mentioned on Cytube). I also spent some time working on the SMGDS engine's collision detection for my own amusement, but I don't have anything to show for that yet. Most of this time was spent writing out design documents and learning about game design in general rather than programming; the design part of game development was not something I really got any practice for with OSF because it's working with the existing Sonic framework, and even making original levels like Redux Mode is just iterating on or reiterating existing designs from Sonic games, which doesn't make for good practice on actually ground-up original game design.
For OSF, I burnt myself out on it a few months ago, and this month I've been unproductive in all my game dev pursuits so I'm starting back on OSF to get back into the groove of things.

I haven't quite gotten SBZ2 finished today as I had hoped. SBZ2 has three obstacles to be overcome, the first of which is the rotating disc here. The object itself is very simple, but it's exposed a problem in the physics where Sonic has difficulty sticking to outer curves, which is why I fall off here. Besides that, there's the elevator, which will probably be mostly easy, and then the fact that SBZ2 is a vertically looping level. I've already done a looping level with LZ3, but it's a real hassle to do manually.
