An Artian replacement endgame system isn't going to be in the next update, we're just going to get more 8* tempered hunts to farm artian parts. Hell, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if whatever new upgrade system they mentioned is just going to be augments for Artian weapons
For the monster roster size problem, they really just need to add in half a dozen more 7* and 8* monsters. 8* tempered hunts of 5* or 6* monsters doesn't really fix the issue, they just feel like stat bloat for the sake of farming Artian parts

I'm still waiting to see what Capcom manages to do for the Frontier rerelease that was leaked years ago. Since the last update the game has been lagging too much to be playable...

I mean I wasn't all that invested in playing lately anyway so I haven't really minded much... but I just checked to see if it was working any better now and it really isn't.
It took me about 10 minutes just to boot the game up. I was half sure it had completely crashed... but it was just being really slow. And when I got into the game it kept freezing up every few seconds or so. Can't really hunt like that.
I guess it is just a me-problem, but I didn't really have these problems before the last pointless update.

this is what i've been doing, but weapon upgrades are locked behind main quest progression. so this is out, unless i find a way to skip the main story

i haven't been using the demon megadrug, and i usually prefer to go with elemental L from the food which means you don't get burned/wet/etc. there's also a pill i can make, although it seems to wear off pretty fast.

this one seems most likely to help, but it means hours of hunting. there are a few options:
1. critical draw gear
2. atk up
3. focus
4. critical damage up
i have maybe one gem for critical eye and that's it, so it would be a matter of farming the gear i need and hoping for lucky gem drops.
there's two more story quests that just opened up but if i was doing such pitiful damage to the weasel then those will take even longer.
annoyingly, even though i killed the weasel i can't craft anything: there's no greatsword that uses viper weasel parts.

Welcome to iceborne where your damage is severely gimped unless you nonstop use the clutch claw. People made mods to balance Iceborne like the base game but you should kinda try to play through it the legitimate way first.

Anyway optimal clutch claw usage goes like this
>shoot rock on ground infront of monster that hasnt spottes you to lock them into an animation
>clutch claw onto head
>claw slap 3 times
>flinch shot to launch it into a wall
>clutch claw onto head again
>clutch attack to wound it
And throughout the fight whenever the monster claw staggers, you have to clutch attack again. Whenever the monster unenrages, you have to triple claw slap to force them into enrage faster to make them take flat 10-20% extra damage. Only by doing all this circus show bullshit do you get similarly balanced damage output like you did in pre iceborne, granted you also only attack the part you wounded. They balanced it like youre playing a flowchart MMO.

No one worth anything will shame you for installing mods to get the World experience.

Let's just take God Eater 3. I wanted the game since I liked the anime artstyle and the weapon designs. But every weapon was basically the worst elements of recent MH games combined.
1. Every weapon is designed to play like Striker Lance or vanilla Rise Hammer with Impact Crater spam in that optimal gameplay revolves around you building your character around using one move and around spamming that move over and over and over and over again. Your builds similarly revolve around you stacking up as many damage chips to make that one move as strong as possible.
2. The game had Clutch Claw before Iceborne even existed. At the start of every single fight, you have to do this painfully long "Devour" animation in order to give your weapons a temporary buff that allows them to activate the aforementioned chips you equipped. If you get hit during that animation, you have to redo it all over again, just like Clutch Claw, and you don't get to activate the chips.
3. If you thought base World had a shit amount of content, wait until you see GE3's lack of content. Your endgame grind is grinding for those chips and the updates the game adds basically gives you variants of already existing clothing for you to wear.
4. Attacks lack any sense of meaty hit feedback. Everything felt like Insect Glaive in Risebreak. Zero meaningful hitstop.

People shit on Kojima for making moviegames, but he's always made sure to give his games tons of player freedom and playstyle variety. His mechanics and character controls also always feel good. MGS5TPP still has some of the most satisfying movement and handling of any third person game out there to this day.
Even at the height of his moviegame craze in MGS4 where like 60 percent of your first playthrough is just watching cutscenes, you still had immense options in how to tackle the content. This game really is way, way too easy. I need to stress this because the developers seem to market this game as a multiplayer experience and a live service cash cow, but you absolutely cannot make a game this dumbed down, this streamlined, and this automated and still expect people to want to play it week after week or go online with friends or join a guild or dedicated server or whatever else. It runs directly counter to the model you're trying to build, a harder game would encourage players to band together to overcome the challenges you pose to them, and also keep them around longer, even if only because they would take longer to beat the game and see everything.

If every monster in the game dies in five minutes, is massively slower and weaker than the player character who can cancel all his attacks at basically any time and counter any enemy move on reaction, and you can basically always hit the weak point with the focus mode, and you never need to explore or gather items because your seikret automatically transports you to the monster you're targeting AND gives you free healing items, and monsters drop rare materials and powerful decorations like candy, then why would I ever feel the need to go online and take on quests with my friends? For that matter, why should I engage with the endgame artian weapon system when just passively keeping up with weapon progression is enough to kill every monster in the game faster and more effortlessly than I could with a fully kitted out augmented Kjarr weapon in World?

The graphical assets look great, the game sounds great, the animations look great, but the actual structure of the game is flimsy to the core. I think you would need to give this game a full blown overhaul/relaunch in the vein of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn to do the existing content justice.

horrible game at launch and the developers does not acknowledge it in any capacity, neither do they make any effort to improve it. everything feels so wrong, game play loop is the same but with less. It feels much less than world, feels more like a copy of world's formula instead of just trying out something better. not to mention the elephant in the room: performance issues. this game is horrible in every way conceivable, more bugs at launch than grains of rice I've eaten since I was born(and my staple food is rice). the feeling of weapons changed completely from an in depth dance with a monster to charge up cool move boom boom monster die. the monsters number tuning is absolute horrible. all in all, this is a horrible game and one that if I would give it a chance, I'd rather wait until the first DLC. I like strawberries

I remember in World, the first time I fought Kirin, it wiped the floor with me. I stepped back and had to figure out a new way to fight it since it seemed to counter my specific build (pierce bowgun). After a few hours of experimenting I was able to develop a weapon and a set that was specifically designed to kill that little jerk. And it felt so satisfying when I went into the hunt with that gear and was able to finally do it.

Never had a moment like that in Wilds, not even once. Your gear doesn't matter, so there's no reason to meaningfully engage in the gameplay systems. You barely even feel the need to upgrade at intervals. There are no difficulty spikes like say Anjanath in World. It's this very gentle slope all the way up. Maybe in 3 years after all the title updates it will be worth playing, and it might even be on sale by then.

グラフィックに力を入れているにもかかわらず、空や雪の質感がワールド:アイスボーンよりも汚く感じました。
肝心の狩りの部分では、至る所に段差や坂が多すぎてストレスを感じました。UI・UXなどの細かい部分でも、ストレスを感じることが多かったです。

With World the scope was clear, make monhun... in HD. They overreached with Wilds pretty hard and they got fucked over by chinkflu. The product we got was hastily cobbled together.

I bought this out of hype like an idiot. Everyone I know dropped it after around 1 month.
First of all it could be called monster fighter because there's no "hunting"to do in the game.
Not much strategy is required to fight the enemies, just attack and dodge once in a while, but even if you don't dodge you can rely on your cat for healing or your mount to take you out of danger.
Add to that a predatory dlc system where you have to pay to modify your character and massively overpriced cosmetics.
And finally the icying on the cake: performance. The game runs and looks like . I have never seen something run so bad for no good reason at all.

Oddly enough a lot of people got raped by HR in general because they sleptwalk through LR, but then the issue here is LR being a cakewalk. As an aside, i honestly don't get the hate for gu, i love gu and think it's probably the best oldgen monhun and probably my favorite title but i think that's likely cause I played through 90% of it guild style with no hunter arts so it just felt like a moderately refined updated collection of all the previous games and their content.
