POE isn't a game where you need to tank huge individual kids most of the time. Most of the time you just need to make yourself resilient to multihit and mechanics that make you take increased damage (shock, scorch, crit, penetration etc). When you solve a lot of these, big hits get reduced to numbers tankable with a couple thousand buffer.

I play a decent amount — definitely more than the average player — and I still can’t keep up with gold costs. Just reviving mercs and managing the town drains gold super fast. I’m not even running mappers really. It just feels way to punishing unless you're fully optimized for gold farming or chaining T16.5s/17s.

It shouldn't feel this rough to keep up with the basic gold costs, considering we have this issue for nearly a year now.

None of this is how the Internet works. If there is a routing issue causing the issues people see then it is because GGG are mishandling how your traffic reaches their infrastructure. These issues would be hitting tons of games. If you think GGG run their own specific datacenters you are stuck in the 80s.

a big problem with recent poe 1 leagues is that it's been awhile since they've introduced a new "farming" method. Sure there are allflames and memory maps but those just amp up existing strats. There hasn't been a new mechanic since Sanctum and no new in-map mechanic since Expedition (Settlers barely counts)

Necropolis, Affliction, Ancestor, Crucible, Kalandra, Sentinel, Archnemesis, and Scourge have not given us a dedicated mechanic to spec into and farm.

Bros I need some help, this is my first poe1 wipe, I did play poe2 but barely grazed red maps cause work piled up.
Played flicker cause it looked cool, had fun with it, decided to do the same here as leaguestart.
I'm following magefists newest slayer pob and while I'm having a great time, I am struggling in yellows.
My flicker keeps stalling cause of mana issues due to all the reservations from auras and mindlessly leveling skills, not enough charge gen/uptime, and sometimes when I hit the flicker button my guy just waves his dick in the air and doesn't move.
I kinda fixed the mana issues by dropping brutality for lifetap but the stalling persists.
Don't have repfaruls for charge gen yet cause I'm slow and poor, although I made 300c leeching yesterday's uberlab layout with freinds and selling vfos gems, we had consistent 4 minute runs while hitting all darkshrines.

I'm a slow shitter but new at the game (only started the very end of Necro) and I managed to get 3 of my void stones in hardcore ssf before ripping. Really liked Blight but was avoiding it because the visual bugs and sometimes jankiness. Decided that I wanted to go in and run some blighted map, screen started flickering (ui and stuff disappearing) and then had half a dozen death orbs rushing at me. Was fun though, torn between finishing my voidstones and trying hardbosses on hc or just going to sc trade and just having fun until PoE2 stuff comes out.

Assuming things like map drop rates haven't changed this patch then after four void stones you can safely unallocate all of those passives. The void stones are enough simply because you're entire tree is tier 16. Breach at the Beach (tier 13 with only two void stoens) will easily take you to level 95-97. I also run shrines because when you get that gloomshrine it's glorious. The final push on my end will be when I have all maps favorited to Dunes again. Tier 16 Dunes + Breach is all you need since that layout has very few obstacles.

Try breaching on Shore and you'll hate it like I do.

League wouldn't feel half as bad if they had just bothered doing an actual meta shakeup.
