Which relics should I be going for as Revenant?
I'm currently using Old Portrait for fully heal allies + ghostflame + arg gauge, old pocketwatch (this is kinda weak...), and power up alongside family.
Not the best lineup I think so any suggestions for what to look out for?

I learned this in elden ring, I did so much random co-op over the years and it was such a blast. You guys have no idea how many people I helped to defeat maliketh. Then seeing those players, in full radahns and rivers of blood, spinning around and jumping after we won, clearly because they were stuck on him for so long, was such a satisfying feeling. NR is the same thing but even better. I realized after doing all that co-op that I would really like a game like nightreign. I'm so glad it got made bros. Its way better than I thought.

I got very close. He had less than 5% HP. I spent the last ~15% of his HP solo cause I had two Ironeyes for a team and they were both downed at two to three bars each.
The saddest part is that had my RNG not been complete ass (was playing Raider and I only had 2 damage negation after getting hit for useful passives) I could have clutched it. 1 or 2 jump attack/powerstance passives and that was Adel's remaining HP.

I did my first run of the DLC at NG+7, without using bleed or frost. It was brutal but highly doable. It required two things though: a vast arsenal (that is, everything in the game, and I was RL300 so pretty powerful) and knowledge (like knowing how to defeat the billion hp furnace golems using pest threads).

There is also rumour that he can't do tornado while poisoned but fuck if I know.
With bleed you will just get to max resistance level faster, same for frost assuming anyone does fire.

I think when people complain about NR not having much variety compared to base ER, what they really mean is how they are distributed. Lots of enemies only appear in specific locations in NR (like Man-Serpents only appearing before a Night Boss, instead of say in the Crater where they would also fit). Whereas every fort is either soldiers or academy mages every time. In terms of actual enemy usage though it's about 95%.

Wow this game is incredibly overwhelming for a new player, especially given the fact that you're intended to rush through things as quickly as possible so you're not given any time to read things, compare items, or make decisions. Why are my teammates ignoring some enemies and focusing others? How do they know which are worth fighting? I picked up a talisman with two spells on it, how do I switch between which spell I want to use? The tutorial didn't even feature spells. I picked up a smithing stone but I have no idea how to use it to upgrade my weapon so I'm not sure if I should just drop it so it's not clogging up my inventory. I want to keep playing so I can maybe learn and come around to liking this but I'm nearing the 2 hour refund limit on Steam and I'm already starting to think this is not the game for me.

I will say that the rune distribution for enemies is a bit retarded. Like in the poison camp for example, the big Miranda flowers give 4800 runes but take forever to kill. A group of wandering nobles gives almost the same amount of runes and takes a fraction of the time to kill.

Even if you have fire, they are not worth it to kill due to the time investment.

I don't think that's the point though, I think it's just an oversight. Enemies should provide an appropriate reward based on TTK. Otherwise people will skip killing those enemies every time which goes against the idea of providing players with variety. It'll be a streamlined process of

The Miranda flowers don't drop any items in the camps so they should drop more runes as a result. You are still hit with the trade off of not getting any strong weapons or passives. The pages give almost just as many runes and take a fraction of the time to kill, but they can also BTFO you with their crossbows.

In this game they give like 600-800 runes each and you are fucking yourself by not mowing them down if they happen to be in your path. So you'd naturally expect enemies with bigger TTKs to be worth it proportionally if the fodder always is.

But they never are. You have a game where it's only ever worth killing complete fodder or bosses. The mid tier enemies never being worth doesn't make sense to me in the context of nightreign.

It's not that simple.
The icons help you plan what you want to do, because they might give you a weapon with the Nightlord's weakness, but they're not usually the first place you enter to hit up (if there's even an appropriate camp for that boss in your run).
When you first land, there will always be a small camp with trash enemies, a few items and maybe a few weapons.
Clear that with your team, level up at the nearby Grace, then move on to the nearest location that would be useful for your team.
Hit Y/ Triangle on the map to give a detailed view of what can be found at each camp.
Move towards churches for extra flask, hitting the camps in between.
Move towards camps using the mines, clearing them en route to get your weapon upgraded (press up on the d pad button to see a map of the underground, I think).
Clear forts and hit the side room on the roof to get info added to your map, like location of scarabs which drop talismans.
Generally, you should avoid the central castle on Day 1 unless your team is good and you know what you're doing.
It's really just a matter of putting in the hours to understand what you should be doing: play a few rounds, watch a streamer. You'll get there.
