/vrg/'s first KINO PHOTO GALLERY EXHIBIT is opening on June 28

Any and all VR photographers are invited to send 6 of their most kino photos or make new ones to send.

The photos we are looking for should be KINO or CINEMA. Contrasted with the Vault which focused on "Memories". This one aims to focus on the ARTISTRY.
Please use this as an opportunity to pick up VR photography as a hobby or aim for perfection as you hone your craft and share in a gallery of fellow photography enthusiasts in VIRTUAL REALITY.

You can send in whatever you want. It'll be compiled into a segment of your own wall as the photographer.
Note images are compressed into 1080p for the map's purposes but you can send 4K images if need be.

I think if VR was more viable as a development platform it'd really help. Godot Quest is just a port of the android version which is OK I guess but there is no easy way to create assets on just the headset. All the software sucks and the meta os file manager sucks worst of all. I really want to make VR games and content on VR hardware, not awkwardly go back and forth between flat workflows and VR, taking the headset off and putting it back on over and over

It's a rally game, they're course time trials. The club works by we all do the same course with the same class of car and the times are compared (just like real rally). It's man vs road.
Buy EA WRC. DLC I have no idea EA makes it as hard as possible to understand their DLC system so you get confused and spend more money.

WRC is just Dirt Rally 3 on unreal engine. It has way more content than dr2, maps flow better, physics feel better. But unreal engine with temporal smearing and bad performance will make you play with downsampling to get decent performance, even with fucking 5090.

alright, god damn, i just tried quest 3 WIRED with a PROPER usb 3.0 cable with power injection and holy shit, it has solved ALL of my problems with the quest. i pushed the bitrate to 500 and there is no latency i can feel anymore.

NTA I've never used a wired headset, but I've never noticed any latency UNTIL I tried using a wired headphones nto my quest instead of my head test connecting directly to my computer. Of course, humans are much more sensitive to sound latency than visual latency. This was using wired quest link at 900 bitrate/ 72hz. I've never noticed any audio latency using virtual desktop even when I plug the headphones directly into the Quest, so they must have some sort of compensation system.

okay /vrg/, i need your help once again. i am the anon who just today switched to meta link with my quest 3 with a power cable that has a splitter for power injection.
and everything is great, i am loving it, but every now and then my headset will freak out, it will pause my games and give me this error.

the ports are all clean and pristine since i literally just got the headset 3 weeks ago.
i've found some forum posts saying it has something to do with the power injection and the only thing i can do is buy a PCI-E usb-c card for my pc so i can inject power straight from the motherboard.

the problem is i have an absolute dogshit motherboard with only one PCI-E slot and its obviously taken by my GPU.

even more weirdly, the error seems to occur more if i have background apps running, like a browser, or spotify. right now i get this error usually every hour or two hours or so. sometimes i dont get it at all.
i am at loss. and this is annoying enough to a point where i want to fix this.

I had this with my cell phone for a bit and cleaning the socket/plug fixed it even though there was no visible liquid or debris. It doesn't take much to leak current between two of the tiny usbc pins especially with PD where it is boosting the voltage.

The short campaign is an extended tutorial and because the devs realized a multiplayer only VR game was going to sell 0 copies. The real "game" is essentially VR garry's mod and the gacha spheres are things you unlock to spawn in that mode. You can store some weapons if you open the inventory screen, but the game doesn't persist them very well.

I was serious about setting up that Volleyball tournament as a thread event months ago when I suggested it.

But as soon as I experienced a maxed out population instance of the map I immediately learned why it's impossible, because VRChat's netcode completely fucking breaks to the point where the volleyball gets more and more desynced the more people join the instance and the people playing get too desynced with each other.
The practicalities of making an event out of it would be impossible. You would need like 8 people in an instance max doing the actual volleyballing and then have it streamed to a watch party instance, and at that point it's just not worth it.
