I don't really know, but some things I can think from the top of my head:
It's classified as a level 3 or lower tuner monster. Linkuriboh and Relinquished Amina also exists.
It can be used Tearlaments, and it's an EARTH monster, which means it can be used in Adamancipator since Block Dragon is legal.
It can be used in rogue decks such as Shaddoll (as material for Shekhinaga by using Shaddoll Fusion), for example.
I think you can also do some fun things with it in Pendulum Magician?
But in the end I guess was really just Halqifibrax abuse.

the destruction protection being only for the edges of the field is a little strange, Buio requiring a fiend to special summon means that fairy decks are going to have trouble using it, and needing to target an opponent's card for the fusion's mill means that you can't use the protection for anything beside BA

Selfrecurring extenders simply weren't a thing back on its release, lvl 1 tuners are especially flexible (one for one), and it mills for you too. It was too strong in 2012 - it doesn't prevent tribute summoning, which WAS still kinda relevant - then they wanted to shill xyz, and none of the attempts to take it off ever stuck. They were my best friends when I started out.
I played the pure version without Tri-Brigade since that was my first contact with "modern" Yu-Gi-Oh! (the most recent game I played at the time was Tag Force 5), and I'm still amazed at how I was able to reach Platinum I with them multiple times.
Also, besides the free cards and the ones from bundles the only URs I had in my deck were Drident, Draco Future, AA-Zeus and Megaclops, 1 of each.
Unfortunately even after adding Tri-Brigade cards later I still felt the effects of powercreep and had to change decks.

It's a long shot but if they could get some archetypal Orcustrated Babel which lets Scraps have Quick Effects the Scrap Dragons + Wyvern would be quick effect removal and Scrap Golem could summon Scrap Searcher to the opponent's field anytime for a nuke

I'm the Evil Hero guy from last night. It's a fun deck but sad that you can't use Lava Golem/Ra Ball because you still usually live and die on your normal.

Evil Assualt is incredibly shit though (UR recommended at 2-3). A 2025 card did not need to have a level restriction and a Hero lock for something you have to discard to use.

Infernal Rider's Super Poly lock is overturned too but since it's Super Poly it's not as egregious as EA since if it makes Super Poly functionally useless.

Depending on your hand and what toggles your opponent is giving, you can just High Spirits instead. Just means you'll make MJ on your opponents turn if you send Titaniklad and summon Quem to dump Albaz.
