I know you're shitposting and all, but there's no denying that they have tried to abandon the game's original essence. Helia's arc is a positive sign of this reversal, but the new 10-week patch cycle is really testing my resolve. I also have a bad feeling for Nexus Anima. Mihoyo might use it to retcon 3rd and everything it stood for. 3rd was made with a different mindset for a subculture completely antithetical to what modern mihoyo ended up with in their newer games. With them failing to revamp 3rd's image for their audience, I suspect they're going to slowly start decoupling HSR from HI3 just like with GGZ to HI3. It might not be apparent right now, but there's a chance it might be with Nexus Anima.

Until basically the finale Kebin honestly didn't really do much beside stand off and be stoic. He has a couple of offscreen fights (Dudu and Senti) and most just walks around asking people to play his Sims game.

Kebin is at his best when he is talking with Hua, because Hua is best girl and consistently has some of the best writing in the game. His and Hua's conversation in the finale was my favourite part of it, besides the ending cinematic because it was very nostalgic.

The real tragedy is Hoyo being utterly fucking incapable of writing anything that spans multiple patches, ever since the flame chasers and thus spoke apocalypse that isn't brought down by; flushing interesting threads down the toilet, using some asspull to save the day or having the real antagonist force be boring cartoon villain of the next 3 episodes, whatever hand waves or power of friendship Hi3 did pale compared to the shit nowadays in their games since here for the most it feels earned to some degree for most of it

No, it's all of these factors combined. Part 1 was for the most part the best one-hit wonder Mihoyo ever made because it was revolving around a smaller set of characters you'd typically associate to a 2000s bishojo game, even giving the most literally who of NPCs their own unique models and appearances. I truly believe the last of the devs who stayed for 1.5 have already left for ZZZ and the final Captain's Bizarre adventure event was the true ending of HI3. Part 2 is a new game made by a new team with a different, albeit conflicting vision of what they want for HI3, and sadly we are out from that picture. The chickens have finally come home to roost, and Mihoyo has reaped the consequences of betraying the trust of the few who stayed. It's about time to re-evaluate their decisions if they want to keep betraying our trust and transmogrify HI3 as a mere extension/advertisement for HSR or going back to their roots and relearn what made part 1 great. Hint: everything before that one incident in 2021.
