Anon one of the biggest draws of this game is the story, which isn't going anywhere. It's absolutely worth playing for the sole purpose of going through the campaign.

On top of that you have all the raids and tons of side content that isn't going anywhere either, and is all worth experiencing at least once.

The big complaints you hear from players right now are people who have been subscribed for several years and have already done all the content, and are complaining that new content being added is slow to release and not as replayable as they hoped.

tl;dr download the free trial and blast through the MSQ and do all the raids and then decide if you wanna stay subscribed after that for the social aspect
