First time trying to fuck around with photo mode. Is there really truly no way to manually rotate a character's head or eyes to change where they are looking?
All the documentation online I've found on it has either been some shitrag game journo websites writing 5 paragraphs on how to press the f9 key to open it or redditors furiously fellating Larian.
Couldn't find any mods to fix it as well and some people even implied that its hardcoded and impossible to fix. But clearly you can toggle your character to stare directly at the camera like a deer in the headlights so they did program head movement, there just doesn't seem to be a way to actually lock a position. Its beyond me how they could have wasted so much time implementing this feature and just fumble on one of the most basic important things about taking a fucking picture.

Wizards was the one that put down hard rules about what is and is not allowed for gameplay, resulting in shit like them curbing Larian's needs to add 500 elemental surfaces to every spell and making barrelmancy almost irrelevant. If camp casting is still in the game, it's because Wizards said it was okay and/or even said it should stay.

It's allowed in rules but usually the DM tells you to fuck off. The DM also usually adjusts and customises encounters so they're playable, compared to BG3 where it's all automated so they have to give you a lot of shit so even casuals have a chance at beating the game. You also usually don't have more than one character per person irl.

Yeah there's even a page giving you some guildlines on how much it costs.

The general rule of thumb to be sensible about it is if you're doing it circumvent a spell's intended downside. Warding Bond is supposed to be powerful but have the obvious drawback of a party member taking half the damage. If you camp cast warding bond, that's some finely aged artisan crafted cheese and most gm's would tell you no, and come up with something like you leave the spell's range when you leave camp.

On the other hand, stuff like Hero's Feats and Aid, where there's no drawback other than spending a spell slot, it's not really meaningfully different to have a camp caster do it vs having one of your guys do it then use one of the spell slot restoration items. The margins are small and it's only a minor advantage.

It's really the ultimate challenge in the D&D realm. There is nothing else out there. No other game, definitely not the newest release, and no other Baldurs Gate 2 mod either. SCS simply doesn't cut it if you are looking for a challenge.

I've done a custom character, an Embrace and a Resist Durge run so far. Thinking about doing a non-Durge Origin run. Which Origins would you say are worth playing, and which aren't? I've already done all variants of the companion quests.

Alright, I need some assistance for this pivotal moment. I'm going to attempt the "glitch" where you kidnap vital NPCs and take them to the Gauntlet so they don't die in Last Light and in turn end up in Act 3.
But how does the rescue work? I read online that they can just go to Baldur's Gate but if I tell them to stay on the water they just end up in Last Light anyway. Do I need to kill Isobel before I free them to get them to go to Baldur's Gate? And what of the Tieflings, do they automatically go as well?
I understand there will be a bit of uncertainty no matter what because few have done the exploit to save people, which I can live with. But I want to be as perfect as I can. I think I just need to save Barcus, Jaheira, Dammon, Rolan, and the Tiefling Children. Though Mol isn't here, I guess the interaction is fucked up because they deleted that chess game she has with Raphael, so she gets kidnapped after the attack on Last Light. Though I suppose I could defend the town from the attack and THEN kill Isobel to fulfill the Durge quest?

Don't remember the name off-hand, it's the current one on the in-game mod manager that shows opinions, the other one I used was more or less the same thing but it is much older. I just use them to cheese opinions and max out the relations early, not having Shart until after you recruit Lae'zel, sending Shart back to camp before you have that Tiefling grovel at your feet, etc. You can fuck Shart and Lae'zel before you get to the Blighted Village this way.

Maybe. Do you know off hand what approval Minthara starts at? I know Act 2 is mostly a bunch of +1s which is pretty insignificant if you didn't get the big ones from having previously slept with her. But I've been going back to put Minthara in my party every time there was a dialogue that would improve her opinion and she's still stuck at 'Fair'. The same thing happened with my other campaign where I saved the grove, whereas my first campaign where I killed the Grove I was able to jump start my Minthara relationship by Act 2.

I've never killed Isobel before, does the whole village not go hostile? Or is it just a cutscene and everyone in the village dies except the children and Jaheira? I was hoping taking Jaheira out of the village would somehow allow me to still recruit her.
Also, should I save the village from the attack before killing Isobel? I know that gets Mol kidnapped which ensures she will show up in Act 3.
Lastly, what do you think with the Moonrise Prison boat? Would they make it to act 3 if I save them after killing the village? Rescuing them from the village and then kidnapping the dozen or so people sounds kind of tedious, but if it has to be done.

Got it. I looked up online and over a year ago there are posts from people claiming they had the gnomes just go straight to Baldur's Gate, but when I try to do the same they just go to Last Light. Not sure if killing Last Light first changes it. I suppose I'll finish clearing out the Gauntlet then I'll just try it out and hope it works. Having to re-do the colony and Mrykul just to test it will be annoying though.

The Emperor and Jaheira tell you you can infiltrate them, and then the fact that you're given a means to enter the darkest area of the shadow curse.

It is now canon that Shart's dialogue towards Halsin was just to lure him into a Sharran marriage.

There's a dialogue that spells out it quite explicitly but to unlock it, it requires you to make specific dialogue choices throughout Act 1.
On top of that, it's a camp dialogue not marked with a ! and the sole hint that she has a new dialogue is that she has a slightly hunched pose in camp rather than her usual one.

So yeah, it's incredibly easy to miss.

A humble Thief can attack three times starting from level 3 with two hand crossbows, using no special resources, making it ideal for new players. The difference is marginal enough that it boils down to preference. EK has better utility, better weapon selection, better alpha-round damage (Action Surge and no need to Rage).
