But even if we just ignore all the many social problems they are more susceptible to, and look at it strictly on a numbers basis: they are just doubling the chance something negative can happen, and doubling the impact it'll have if it does.

Im new to using dalamud plugins and really just interested in noclippy and price insight for the marketboard.
But I didn't notice before, when using the price insight each item shows me either Obtaining Signature, or the name of what I assume is the retainer's owner. Why is that and is there a way to disable that in the plugin settings?

Two of the very worst I've ever experienced were an irl married couple, and an ecoupe that (from what I understood at least) lived together after meeting in game. People like this tend to be the worst to deal with just because they bring drama in addition to problems.

But even just two bros that are a package deal can be cancer to a group. Not because they bring drama but because if one of them gets bored or has irl shit come up and has to leave the group, you're now down 2 members you have to replace/trial/reprog and its just a fucking mess.

If the majority of the playerbase can't/won't do it, that means it's hard content.

I guess it just pisses me off that they did all this cool shit in bozja to make everyone happy, and they did it during covid when the devs weren't even in the fucking office. But now that the game's pumping more revenue than ever, suddenly there's "not enough funding" to make things that everyone can enjoy. Bozja's Castrum was a normal difficulty dungeon, but it had parts, like the final bosses, where the dudes who liked more of a challenge could jump up into the ring to fight that lion or whatever. They did a good job of allowing everyone present to feel like they were contributing. If you can't make a normal and a savage, I feel like Castrum's solution is at least a decent compromise.

Man that is grim as fuck but honestly you're right, I should just stop expecting them to ever change things. Hell, anytime there's a mechanic that forces people to stop doing their rotation, everyone finds some way to avoid doing it. In some cases, the game even rewards you for not doing it. Bad example, but it's the only one that comes to mind atm, the turtle CE where you have to stop what you're doing and collect coins. Simply ignoring it lets you do fewer mechanics later, and is a straight dps boost because you're attacking instead of doing mechanics. This was a mechanic that didn't involve bodychecks or "standing still and waiting for the mech to resolve" or memorization, and it was honestly kind of cute the first time, but of course it was rendered totally moot in like a day.

Frankly, all I want is something that's fun and has a reason to run multiple times. I did DRN hundreds of times just fucking with the lost actions and trying for the haircut and helping others through it. I ran aglaia a lot for the glams. Something doesn't need to be frustratingly difficult/timewasting for me to enjoy it.

Certain regions will always have loads of people, no matter how dead the game becomes. When Limsa is noticeably emptier, then we're really in a shit state. But one thing lots of people ignore is just the state of the queues in general. Tonight I queued up for a ton of shit because I wanted to just play the game, and nothing popped. It's the weekend, so it's not like I'm crazy to be playing at night, but yeah. I sat there for hours waiting and none of the things I wanted to do were able to pop. When that happens to me often enough (and it happens fairly often), then for me personally, the state of the game feels quite dire.

I think this is your personal hangup, knowing the traps are stupid or xyz mechanics can wipe the raid is already too many layers deep. Most people don't get that far, they're not filtered because of the content of the actual raid within - it's from all the logistics. I know a lot of people who are interested, but do not necessarily have enough burning passion to put up with everything it asks you to go through. As far as time investment and how far you have to go out of your way, FT is harder to interface with (not to do, I'm talking just how simple it is to get your foot in the door) than even like Savage where you slap some crafted gear on and mash your face into the first prog PF you see.

Hi, allyraid autist here. I used to make hella PFs for aglaia when it came out, and despite not using ACT I ended up with 87 logged kills exclusively from randoms who used it. In total, I probably ran it at least 300 times. I also used to make PFs for Ivalice, for Puppets Bunker, and for Dun Scaith. I haven't done anything like that for Jeuno because the glams were dogshit and I didn't enjoy most of the fights beyond the first or second run. Nothing about any of them felt particularly unique or enjoyable to me. I can't even recall the music. At least Dun Scaith has that first boss where you can watch people fly off. And each Ivalice raid has at least one boss with a funny mechanic. And puppets bunker is just my personal favorite. And Aglaia had the hand arena and the scales shenanigans before we outgeared it and it turned into a shitraid that I stopped doing. But Jeuno? Idk. I didn't give a shit on any level.

M8S is pretty much the perfect example of an encounter that's not super reliant on group DDR but fairly difficult to execute. Phase 1 is so easy mechanically, it's your typical stack / spread stuff, but the speed of it makes it so people easily trip up and fail. Phase 2 is more DDR-like stuff, but not as bad as a lot of the other 4th floor fights like in EW like P8S
I hope that in the future, they lean more into making fights that have simple mechanics but making them harder to execute, since to me that's more fun than figuring out debuff puzzle slop

My main burnout with Savage/Ultimate raiding isn't the content itself, I'm just kind of tired of networking and scheduling and everything else... As someone who held the same sentiment for years about raiding, up until Dawntrail, you just have to look past it. Sometimes you get groups that are complete dogshit, sometimes you get groups that one shot pull the fight. If you are primarily using PF, then it literally comes down to luck, and if you raid in PF long enough you learn very quickly when to cut your losses with a group and find a new one. I've had days where the groups are so shit, I just take a break for a couple days then come back and have better luck.
All that matters is your personal performance. You can't control the other people in your group. As long as you focus on your personal consistency, that's literally all that matters in raiding.

I guess my point is that I want more content similar to CAR where it's comfortable to do primarily in spur-of-the-moment pickup type groups. I like group content and I do a lot of it already, I just want a better balance. It feels like the majority of battle content in DT for me at the moment is either so brainless as to not even move the needle roulettes or stuff I have to plan my week around and there's very little for me to do outside of that. Your only choice for that at the moment is farming Extremes over and over or fflogs autism for lack of any other reason to keep running Savage multiple times per week.
