Yeah. There used to be arcade ones too, but those got canned due to low playercount some years ago. RB squadronbattles are still around. 8vs8, no respawn, up to four planes, new BR each week, season lasts two months.
Pretty fun, actually. As long as you stay in the low point matchmaker anyways. The low playercount means that as soon as you have enough points to play in the normal matchmaker there's a very good chance you'll get farmed to death by people that have been doing this for years and have the meta nailed down to a tee.

Stock grind on most tanks is such a torturous experience that I genuinely do not understand how you all can put up with this. Aircraft don't have any of those problems until like, 10.0 when missiles and flares become the meta.

Playing without parts is almost impossible because any hit disables you until either a teammate is generous enough to come and help, or you waste your time heading to the nearest capture point. Shell grind is equally absurd. Fuck do you mean I have to put up with dogshit fucking APCR shells on my cold war era tank (M48, I spaded it long ago but just now remembered that it has stock fucking APCR). That's kind of like locking the machine guns on planes and having the only way to kill planes be having the pilot pop out of the cockpit and shoot them with a hand revolver.

Seriously, it's so ridiculously dogshit and predatory from gaijin and I just don't know how you can put up with it.
Like it'd be ok if the only shells you could research were utility/meme shells like HE, smoke, HESH, HEAT and APDS, APCR and MAYBE APHE (only if you had regular AP/worse kind of APHE stock), but for some reason so many tanks have the shells that are practically REQUIRED for them to work locked behind modifications. And not even like T1 modifications, the best shells are always T3/T4 modification, it's absurd.

Mobility upgrades? Gun elevation/rotation/accuracy upgrades? Sure, they're reasonable things to put behind modifications because on most tanks they aren't necessary for it to work, just make your life a bit easier. But the ability to repair and shells actually required to be competetive? It's beyond absurd, and I do not get how most of you just deal with it, and then some of you actually defend it.

the damage system is the most realistic of any game ever, individual parts can be damaged and personnel inside the planes and tanks are simulated along with shrapnel and what not, it's pretty cool. The damage system can be rewarding and frustrating though. If you think planes tanks and even warships are cool this is the only game worth investing your time into. High level tank gameplay boils down to playing a set path to early/mid/spawncamp positions on every map and having some situational awareness/weakspots knowledge and reaction time thats about it. Also if you wanted to do well you would just play a light tank no matter what because drones give you a gigantic upperhand over everyone else.
