Except Blitz is fundamentally better designed than standard BR. One of the biggest detriments that has plagued the genre, not just Fortnite, is the long time investment per match that can be instantly snubbed by e.g. getting headshot out of the blue by a sniper on a mountain range 100+ meters away. Blitz's short 5 minute matches takes a lot of the sting out of dying, and the constant combat is arguably better engagement to improve a player's performance.

The whole thing honestly is kind of a cylindrical problem. Huge maps require mobility, mobility grants the ability to escape and chase, everyone escapes and chases across the huge map, and you can't really change one thing or the other without having to compromise in some fashion on either the map or the mobility. And since Fortnite partly pulls from some of the same crowd as the crack-addled Warzone players that are turbo twitchy jump-slide spammers, you basically can't add fancier player mobility without someone trying to go apeshit with it, and the majority of players are console who have a hard time tracking super fast targets in Fortnite even with the sticky aim assist, so the small portion of players that can aim and move with mobility get this huge advantage over everyone else.

And when that happens, the season just becomes dominated by people dropping, trying to grab mobility ASAP, and then going on a kill spree hunting down as many people as possible regardless of rhyme or reason and that's just a problem lasting the entire rest of the game. Shit got so bad back in Absolute Doom that WAY too many people would drop, hope for Hover Jets, and quit out if they didn't get them because it meant someone else did and would be hunting them down shortly.

Time to slow down on posting now that I got max level on Rift Ripper in Expeditions
Overall it's not really worth anyones time but for those that do want to waste their time, Rift Ripper is the only class worthwhile. 6 second cd shards that chunk enemies for 1k a volley is insane and her AOE skill that basically says "fuck you die" to groups is even more insane. Not to mention everything she does heals her and her team so she's not even a glass cannon. Just a cannon. She also only gets slightly beat out in mobility by Shadow caller but both classes require knowledge on how to reach max speed so its comes down to who knows their character more.
Shadow caller is the class for shitters (the target audience) and the Hunter would be good if you had a group going but with the average pub lobby its not worth trading away your dps for better overall team damage in optimal scenarios.
Both dps characters rely on cooldown reducing melees since they can hit a guaranteed crit with a plunge attack but Shadow Caller is stuck in the air like an asshole for most of her dps gameplay while Rift Ripper can continually abuse it while fitting in an aimed gun volley to put out numbers no other class can reach right now. Rift Ripper can also one shot all structures survs are stuck under while Shadow Caller has to smack stuff with a dagger or hammer which is ungodly slower.

TLDR; Rift Ripper fucks, focus ability damage and cd reduction and you can finish every mission in 4-5 mins. Don't use Hunter.
