There's 3 slots just for guests and Aegiomon is special guest where he has levels/HP/can be controlled/can die, while Minervamon is like a CS guest where they can't die/be controlled. I assume it goes to 3 because there will probably be a section of the game where Coronamon/Lunamon are both with you

since they're redoing all the models from scratch it makes sense to focus on the pre-kizuna mons.
the sequel/side story coming out one year later will then add 100-150 new mons, and then they'll port those models over to the next digimon world game

The game's roster was finalised around 2017 and Kizuna was the latest piece of media at the time. They already did Tri cross-promotion with Next Order, Colon and Ghost Game weren't greenlit yet, and they weren't going to add fucking Appmon, so Kizuna was the only real choice at the time. I think people forget how little character the 02 characters had because they remember Ken. I don't think the new movie shafted them at all because 02 was always about them interacting with a new chosen kid to help them. This is good, I've been enjoying Pokémon romhacks WITH LEVEL CAP IMPLEMENTED of course, just letting me swap my mons at any given moment.
It gives purpose to all the catching and evolving, lately I say screw it and even feed them rare candies and use whatever methods for quick EV training they have.
I wouldn't so that in the early game, but by mid-late game in which you're expected to have competent units then beefing them up is fair.

It's a different game when you can just log into your pc and choose the right monsters for the job, provided the game is hard enough to require it. Or just change your party to mess around with other mons you wanna try, in Cyber Sleuth for example I'm running an "all red" monsters team just for the aesthetic appeal, would be nice if I decided to run all green or all blue and has those Digimon already leveled and ready to use without grinding for hours (I don't have Platinum mons nor Tactician USB, getting them seems like a hassle)

However, Apocalymon was a god tier villain, especially for the age we were in when watching Digimon.
In my case, I was like 8 or 9 years old maybe, when I watched Apocalymon for the first time. It just blew the fuck out of Pokemon who was still just a children series, and Digimon said "fuck it" with Apocalymon and added that adult vibe in even more than with Dark Masters.
The whole aesthetic was fantastic, and Digimon Card Battle introduced a lot more of that shit in.

Reminder that Time Stranger only have a 6-mon party. 3 active, 3 reserve. It's not like CS/HM where you have 11 party slots, and so have a lot of room to simply bench stuff in the back for the sake of them getting EXP without needing to actually use them while they're weak. This meant 3 PlatNumemon being active would mean 8 other Digimon would still be getting all that EXP.
If the same PlatNumemon/USB strat was still in Time Stranger, then you'd have to use the three Plats as your actives, while only 3 of the reserve that you're actually grinding for get that exp.
So unless you genuinely want to grind 6 Digimon at a time, potentially only 3 depending on what they do with EXP boost stuff like PlatNumemon, Digimon getting EXP in the bank is the only way to encourage actually swapping your party around without completely halting all progress.

Ultimately it's impossible to judge how this is going to impact the game until we play it for ourselves.

The requirements for Accel were weird. They had blind boxes of plastic cards with metal in them that unlocked different types of DNA required for evolution and I think that was it. Finally! I have finished Cyber Sleuth!
I first played it on PS4 at launch and dropped it after reaching Odaiba.
When I got up to that stretch of the game between Odaiba and the Metro Office, I almost dropped it again. Before that it was fine, and after I reached the digital world it was also fine. It's just that stretch of the game that's god-awful. Grinding levels with PlatinumNumemon was more enjoyable than continuing the story in that section.
Still, I found every V Uchida and finished every case in the game (except for the generic ones you search for with your digifarm islands) so I don't have to go back to clear anything up.
I am going to wait for several months to a year before trying Hacker's Memory, because I'm completely burnt out on Digimon JRPG.

those kinds of games are only fun if everyone involved is a friend of yours and not some internet rando, and if there's a proper rotation so everyone gets a turn at beings the raider/killer, and a bunch of fun and dumb customization options like silly hats
but that's not what the suits want they want twitchbait and people to keep playing long after they stopped having fun because it's been six hours and they've yet to win a match nor get a turn as the raider and they want those people to impulse buy a bunch of lootboxes desperately hoping to get something from the current competative meta that destroys all the balance but is completely mandatory because all the whales are running it and if you're not, your'e dead weight on the team and going to be the first to die more often than not
