Yes, SA is active. What is happening here is I'm guessing you set it to new player when asked the first time you launched the game.
That throws you into the lowest rank, and the lowest ranks are grim, some months ago I had a friend start the game and I watched him, the starting rank is awful, it takes long to find matches because there aren't many people in there.
However, once you reach A this problem disappears (I can't say how much better it gets in B). A to S++ is well populated enough, though there are many master alts.
Another thing I've noticed is that SA is just volatile. One day I'm getting 100 different people, the other day I'm getting the same dude over and over again or no one at all.
Besides that, yeah the maincord has an active community

The resource it uses is patience IRL. You either defend against 66L patiently or use it a lot without getting fucking bored of just spamming the same shit. So both the attacker and defender use IRL emotional and mental resources to process the 66Ls differently. I've had days where I 66L a person like 4 to 5 times in a row and they just sit there blocking, and I feel like I'm playing a circus clown cartoon network video game because of how much mashy spam 66L shit there is and after the match I just stop playing for the day. So even though I was the one attacking and I won the match, I'm ultimately the one that lost because the overwhelming feeling of being fucking bored of mashing on 66L ultimately made me stop playing while my opponent probably went on to keep playing another match.

I don't think Early RS or c.M on Djeeta are impractical or unrealistic. It's just that the other routes are safer. That's it. Any experimented player might very well choose the optimal route if they've already assessed their resources (ex.: They know they are already full meter.) Similarly, you could also argue that doing an early RS allows you to check which cooldowns are available and plan the most optimal route accordingly.
It's not like the very niche microwalk combo I presented with Djeeta, where it's very inconsistent for little additional reward.

For Beatrix, aside from the 1f Block delay c.M (which is 100% consistent), the manual delays in the combo are actually optional. They are here so you can make the most of your 22H, but you can skip them for slightly less damage.
Other than that, you can link pretty much everything without worrying about timing. The only tricky part is to buffer the SBA input at the right timing after 236H, in order to get the Technical input bonus. It's still fairly easy to do with practice though, or you can use simple inputs and make it consistent.

I guess the reason why I play fighting games is the mutual understanding, the mindgames, the reads and the adaptation
Now 1/2 my fights are against degenerate gigglers with one hand on the roulette wheel and one hand on their micropenis cock jacking themselves off how good they are
There's no interaction, they're just playing their game as if I'm a CPU and they keep repeating the slot machine until they win
and its fine to gamble, i don't mind gambling in fighting games, I understand it's a part of the genre.
But what I can't accept is that the risk-reward is massively skewed in the gamblers favor which encourages them to keep spinning the wheel until they luck out once (they already have a high chance of landing the lucky guess because of the massive amount of options avaliable while YOU have to guess the ONE RIGHT DECISION out of 1000 scenarios)
And your reward for guessing right? a -6 fl starter or if you hold it and block, you're minus and they loop again.
Their reward? 60% into oki + setup + immediate guess for game hard 50/50 or something
