It also adds a Marienburg pirate faction to Lustria and a merchant expedition in Cathay.
Mixu's LLs mod does make confederating more interesting, it gives some personality to the Elector Counts so collecting is more satisfying when they have unique models and their weapons. They perform about the same as usual in the hands of the AI but they do have some mechanics to give them flavour. Did an Ostland run before that was pretty fun.

I just had a very fun thorgrim campaign. You know how it usually goes as dwarfs, you gain a decent bit of territory, kill one or two bigger foes, and from there it's all smooth sailing with basically no threats. Well not this time. I realize now what makes dwarves so annoying to fight is there's no good way to fight them. Most factions can't beat them at ranged on higher diffs. You can't shut down their ranged with light cav or flyers because they're all hybrid units. They're crazy resistant to magic. All you can do is try to overwhelm them with melee spam and hope you win the grind.
