Tried testing it with multiple machine archetypes and i cant tell what this thing was made for. In theory it has these generic link starters that gives the impression that it could fit in most link/earth machine.deks, but in practice it almost feel like a xenophobic archetype, like heroes or ddd. It's almost impressive how they designed this thing to feel so splashable when it isn't.

However for better or for worse, all those things influenced the game, the cards and formats we all have come to both love and hate over the course of these 25 years. The original poster implies someone told him to play Rush as a viable alternative and I have to disagree with that because Rush does away with a lot of what made the game what it is today even if those changes were for the better, there's simply no game that plays like Modern YGO.

While I do like Rituals in Rush, they don't feel very different from modern Fusion mechanics in the TCG/OCG now at least for . I do understand why they did it, needing to draw both the Ritual and the Ritual spell in a game with minimal searching is awful and they would brick you just like OG Maximums. I'm biased because I like Main Deck mechanics though.

i'd say RUSH plays alot more like the what the anime feels like than modern yugioh.
i can see a gx random character summoning gilford the legend and equipping 3 equips as their big powerful wincon (literally happens in gx, chazz vs that one obelisk blue)
i don't see a character from any of the anime normal summoning reinonheart and then milling 30 cards and ending on 20 interruptions and 3 handtraps in hand.
in this sense, RUSH is more yugioh than yugioh will ever be yugioh.
