Disagree. I think we should have two, but they need to be paced at x.1 and x.5. Not the weird pacing in the past of x.1 and x.3. Why? There's been a long content drought at the end of the expansions (now pushing a year) and many people are done when they complete the MSQ. There isn't anything anchoring them down, unless they're catching up with old ultimates or relics.

Be careful about this, because I rather not see a situation where we run back to discussions with Endwalker's V&C dungeons and the lack of rewards. FFXIV is like watching a random schmuck go viral. Got lucky, got popular, thinks they're hot shit and can do anything, squandered it, now they're crashing out because their niche is gone.
It was easier for WoW to make their game more casual friendly than it was for Square to make an immersive world that feels like it matters beyond the MSQ. Square disagreed with their players who warned them out of love for the game and its success and now WoW is cutting into the one thing Square as a company offers with FFXIV that makes the game different.
I think the fact that a large proportion of sprouts you see are just here for the VRChat lite experience and pretend dating speaks for itself, that's not even something Square offers.
Bottom line, FFXIV exploded in popularity because the story was engaging and everything around it sucked. Now the story is unengaging and when the MMO has to stand on its merits as a game we watch it fold like origami. SHB and Endwalker's success was more to do with what WoW and other competitors were doing wrong than what Square was ever doing right.

Yeah, that's why I barely progged V&C dungeons, even when they were current content. The interest for them were next-to-none in the Party Finder and you had to set up schedules and pseudo-statics in the discords. (At the time, I was bouncing between EU and NA.) The only time interest even went up for V&C dungeons when they added horizontal progression for Alola Island, but it didn't matter because Anabaseios had nothing holding people down for the long-term content drought to Dawntrail.

Hell, the weapons actually looked nice and I wanted that canvas scholar book, but oh well. Maybe if Square Enix didn't move at a snail's pace on feedback, people would do content.
