After you have your roach immediatley start setting up lethal, this is where most idiots make their big mistakes, they get consumed by trying to clear the enemy board without bouncing roaches for face. Around turn 7 you can end with double roach if you have bayle or deepwoods .

So, basically we're stuck with the follower having those stats because of continuity autism. The real question is why the fuck doesn't Anne&Grea have an appropriately costed PP cost to justify summoning that follower, AND spellboosting, AND damaging and enemy, AND having a fat statline?

The more that I've been thinking about things, the more that I think that it was straight up a MISTAKE to make +2/+2 and +3/+3 inherent qualities to evolution and super evolution. In SV1, followers had basic stats and evolved stats. Most gained +2/+2 from evolving but some were kept fair by having their offense and defense untouched when evo'd. I think that this NEEDS to be brought back in the form of some followers having additional evo/super evo abilities that give them -2/-2 and -3/-3 when evo'd/super-evo'd just to offset the inherent stat gain from evolution so that cards can simultaneously have powerful evo effects without being busted from a substantial statline increase as well.

It could easily be fixed by making that type of follower get -2/-2 or -3/-3 on evolution/super evo. It's not the most elegant fix, but it's easy and mechanically functional. You can keep the asymmetric changes with stuff like -2/-0, or mix and match with things like +2/-2

"Evolution" was an archetype that some crafts had in SV1. Basically decks built around followers that could evo for free under certain conditions. There will certainly be more cards that trigger and effect when they evolve rather than paying to evolve. Just keep your eyes peeled for that "When CARDNAME evolves, DO THING" wording.

Playing decks in this game after playing shadoba 1 feels so fucking bad. Every class needs to play infinite high cost bombs so they can trade into each other in the super evo turns. In shadoba 1, decks had much lower curves than in this game.
However, that by itself wouldn't be so bad IF they had not nuked Crystallize and Accelerate on top of it. Why is Enhance in and those keywords gone? That was one of the best designs in shadoba 1. You barely cared about mulling for a curve over mulling for your important cards because pretty much every card had a purpose in the early and late game.
