Usually at the end of a combo. He's weak to thrust attacks. If I remebered all of the punish windows I'd tell you when to attack, but since I forgot you'll have to go through some trial and error.

turnbased boss, you punish after he does a move (carefully)
his combos all expect you to roll them in specific directions to avoid both the attacks and the followup lightbeams
evade the meteors by running sideways and jumping then run back (if far) and the afterimages will miss and roll forward on the last one; if close you need to roll them
the other attacks you mostly roll forward at an angle for; basically the lightbeam angle is set when he starts a swing and doesn't change so if you change angle they'll miss
he has strong damage negation, defense, and status resist across the board, in phase 1 he has less holy res and rot res but phase 2 is flat across the board dmg negation wise, so use your best stuff

I see this a lot in /erg/ too but in randoms, it's like 90% of the time for some reason, it's always straight to the bosses and leave. it's not just ruins where you kind of have to go out of your way for the chests but also places with chests that are literally on the way to the next objective

but it's not really a mystery, I also see tons of randoms that drop weapons and don't fill their slots with passives and there's people that's bosspowermaxxing and ignoring low level chests (which I do understand because boss rushing and getting your purple/orange weapons from boss rewards does work really well if lucky both in terms of runes and loot)

I find it trivial if you just just split into two groups. There's always one giant covering another one, but they're paired, so two always cover eachother. Only exception is the one at the big chest with some adds, but you can just stay in the far side of that area so the other troll can't blast you.
If you do it that way you'll not get hit with a single pot. Works even with randoms, just split off and engage the other troll. Your other two randos will be able to kill the one troll just fine while you distract and start on the other
