If you are casting as duches don't go big expensive spells. Make sure to back up any big damage your team does with the clock. You can even do it without big damage due to how fast it comes back. Gets some affinity on your blades and have the Duchess relic that boost affinity attacks. Beat the ice dragon with someone and get that relic on too. Don't commit too hard to finishing your combos unless the boss is clearly distracted, a single back swing could put you on your ass. Pick up damage negation, FP/HP regen on successive attacks. Don't make magic your main thing unless you have the shards to keep it up. Learn to dodge well, if that boss moves even a little hit that button. Circle behind human size enemies.

why do so many people think fulghor is easier than adel?
i've spammed adel and now fulghor. sure, fulghor has a complete dud for a big special move, but adel had way more blatant openings to exploit.
also, adel's grabs were actually beneficial for the team, so long as the grabbed person doesn't die from them.
fulghor is also passively avoidant to ranged projectiles to a rather annoying degree, and his twinblade attacks make it rather scary to hit him in melee, even if he isn't focused on you.

I think west is better once you're inside, and I personally prefer to fight loretta on the way in because agheel likes to waste time landing on that cliff after doing a flyover, but you might want to ignore either one depending on your time constraints/how much you're cleaning up before arriving at noklateo
That said my argument for west is simply: death knight that drops orb is on the way, the astel can easily be sniped by mid-range attacks from standing under him
black knife is the same, royal revenant can be killed easily if you have a revenant in your party, then you get a death knight again + astel
assuming you go fast enough, you then get to dupe a greater pool of loot presumably, and furthermore it's easier to approach dragonkin soldier after you kill headless troll + black knife east than it is to do it after you kill the west black knife
also if you go west second, due to camera angles it can be scarier to go down the areas you can potentially fall off, the east is very safe to navigate
It's worth mentioning there's a death knight on the east as well tucked behind the astel somewhere, most people I see just ignore it but I've been trying to force people whenever I run noklateo to acknowledge its existence, it's better to route through him rather than go into the sewer

Adels tornado one shots every character even with Vigor +3s if you don't know the tell to start running away. Also the tick damage when you're outside of the tornado, but not close enough to a spring is enough to shred the squishy characters too, at least cost them a flask or 2. It's just a big knowledge check for Adel where as Fulghor actually has aggressive combos that shred your HP, not just exclusively gimmicks. Thats why I think Fulghor is harder. However they are both easy if you main Recluse :D

there's a staff rack in every small fort (the ones with the courtyard that's either an Iron Virgin or the knight captain at the top), in the room at the top with the map table that gives "local clues". i think there's one in the forts with the mages and Crystalian boss as well but don't quote me on that. otherwise you also have a high chance to get a decent staff from the tops of Rises (mage towers)
