Just use her cocktail for FP regen and otherwise ignore it. Your team will most likely be spamming different affinities anyway so unless you're on comms your cocktail spells will basically be randomized. Focus on abusing and spamming all the broken sorceries in the game from right outside the bosses attack range.

Guardian isnt trash, people just say he is here a lot because it garuntees replies. He's particularly good against this nightlord, as his shield is extremely effective against the twinblade flurry and he's the best user or Bolt of Gransax on the game. If you have the damage reflect on guard relic, block the twinblade full combo, and follow with a guard counter, its basically a garunteed full stagger.

lmao2kat is a meme in nightreign. It does marginally more raw damage for longer attack animations and enormous stamina costs while dealing LESS status infliction than just using 1h lights. The jumping/rolling 2kat attacks are still good though.

2h kat is slightly more stance damage (kats don't deal much anyway) but slightly slower. Ideal kat gameplay is jumping/running dual kat attacks to close distance and otherwise exclusively 1h lights.

Executor isn't awfully complicated in practice. his arcane stat carries him.
You just spam bleed/frost/poison/rot and he can fallback on DEX weapons and/or his ult if enemies are status immune. Your ult is also good for a full heal, can heal teammates with the roar relic, and your r1s in ult completely counter certain enemies like the horseback boss knights by flinching them nonstop
Just learn what weapons are good at doing status, and press r1.
Oh, and staying in his character skill is bad. You can use it to deflect attacks with just the unsheathe/resheathe animation so get used to that.

The biggest restriction on damage in nightreign is a result of uptime.

The biggest causes for a lack of uptime in nightreign are:

Guardian is melee without a gap closer like wylder, so he isn’t ideal, but he does have a slight advantage over raider due to having higher stamina

Kind of self explanatory. That’s what’s going to cap your damage. Guardian has a lot of stamina. His base damage is garbage but he has above average uptime, he also relies less on healing as he doesn’t need to maintain full HP for damage negation.

He’s fine as a character, anyone who thinks any character in this game is bad, is bad themselves. All are good.

Whenever I start picking up random weapons on Duchess like Curved Swords, Thrusting Swords, etc, I ALWAYS get more random stuff. If you try to force the loadout you won't ever hit the right things like the class that is designed for it.

I tried doing it when anons said the loot tables can be influenced. They can be not really. I tried it with Wylder forcing greatshields and spear like Guardian in every game for a whole weekend. I could build the greatshield and the poker to go with it but I never got the stream of passives to enhance my stamina or make guarding have enough buffs to make it worth it. If Guardian can make his build 100% stronk 80% of the time, Wylder forcing it could make it maybe 20% strong 80% of the time.

People assume the game checks your loadout when generating loot drops for boss gachas. You can mess up the pathway in your loot gachas by having mismatched gear in your kit and can throw it way out of whack if you do it enough.
You won't notice it much if at all if you only pick up gear from chests or boss gachas because you are already 'in your line' but if you pick up a piece of gear from an item discovery kill you'll start seeing stranger things than that character usually sees.

I got in the habit of killing jellyfish at the castle river for the shield and it drops sometimes. In those runs the loot pools will start having more defensive options. Polearms to pair with the shield I'd never get as Recluse for instance, ghosts on guard, that kind of thing.
The other way you'll run into it is if you stack up on trashy grey items early game for passives thinking any passive helps. If those passives are built for a specific playstyle the loot rolls will reflect it.

this also makes getting the 3 of a kind passives a bit better. Feels like wakizashi counts as a dagger and katana and if i loot one early i tend to get moonveil or rivers on duchess later.
I've also had guardian runs that threw nothing but bonksticks at me. dropping your weapon early to game it seems like a fun idea to get some variety.
the chest drops seem to be random or you could rush a merchant for a weapon type.
