You almost certainly are not running the engines all the time for a myriad of reasons.
The math has been done before, unless you're in a literal tiny tincan like a modern spacecraft, human body heat and computers at idle are not going to keep you comfortably hot.

I playtested Intimacy a bit. I don't have steam, so I will report here.

Pic - rare case when one pawn steal partner mid lovin'. It looks funny when the beds are next to each other.
Another funny thing is that when pawns choose a place to lovin', they always lovin' on the right on a double bed. This means that if a pawn normally occupies the left part and someone sleeps on the right, they will lovin' right on top of the sleeping pawn.
Pawns can go lovin' in the middle of a ritual, but they stop when the ritual stage changes and just stand there. Sometimes they make it, sometimes they don't. Depends on how far away the bed is. I don't really like the idea of blocking lovin' during rituals, because some pawns rarely meet each other and rituals help bring everyone together.

Another thing (bug?) is that I have never seen kind words from a kind pawn for three years. Maybe the lovin' dialogue somehow blocks this interaction, but I'm not sure.

btw, now that lovin' is possible without a bed, this is the PERFECT opportunity to make an intimacy addon with a GAY BOMB!
Hear me out!
The bomb starts same sex lovin' between all pawns in the antigrain warhead radius. After lovin', they either have a mental break or get the gay trait.

What's the emissive power of the gravlite panels? That would control the heat radiated out into space, so you would need to know it to come to any conclusions.

Had this happen to me before and I think it's caused by mods that cleans up filth over time, if the pawn cleans up filth when it's being cleaned by the mod at the exact same time then it goes into the negatives, and the pawn will continue cleaning it because it's still considered dirty and it will go down even further

Perhaps the chance was heightened because it's a dirt-able tile right between two grow zones on dirt tiles, born from how I built these greenhouses which are different from what I normally do.
Using dev mode Destroy on the -5200 tile and the one Reika was standing on which also had a negative dirt value released her from purgatory.

Taking one on offensive attacks against humanoids is decent because the fire will make them run around out of cover, it's worse defensively due to range/unpredictable enemy movement when burning. Give a launcher to an otherwise useless combatant for those missions that demand you cram 12 colonists into a shuttle to clear a camp of raiders. And of course you can manually use them to dispose of corpses/drugs/useless items. Any kind of fire weapon shines with bugs and closed spaces, it's trivial to burn out a hive if you don't care about rebuilding furniture. Don't give it to anybody that's actually good at shooting, give them a real gun

It's possible, but you will have to do heavy repair around your base after each major raid.
You hole inside one of your big rooms that has multiple exits and fight while spamming psycasts. skipshield, vertigo pulse, berserk, invisible, skip, etc.
It requires to have a lot of properly armed pawns or disposable attack animals like wargs (they reproduce like hamsters) and many psycasters. Well, cataphract pawns with persona weapons are very good. If they have tough trait is even better since it heavily reduces the chance of an unlucky instant kill.
The big problem are the mass shambler attack, they like to destroy the base so you have to endure this for 6 to 10 hours.
It's not optimal, but it's not impossible. You also need to make a lot of limbs and organs because injuries are going to be very frequent. Transhumanist is also a good ideology since it will heal those annoying scars in the torso.
The ancient danger cryptocasket saw a lot of use in that run since I stored the unlucky pawns who died in combat inside until I found a resurrector serum.
Alternatively, I don't know why I dind't think of it, slave meatshield is a good idea too. Give them shieldbelts and have them act as human shield, you can even give them some melee weapons.

One more Anomaly question. I was hoping for a kind of Ambient Horror mode (see anything), with the option to still activate the monolith and do the ending. I see that they added a setting for inactive threats, but the description is weird

Both the Monolith and Anima Tree should be changed to be landmarks instead of omnipresent on every map. If you have the monolith then entities of a certain level won't appear unless you progress the monolith. Ambient Horror has none of that restriction. As far as I know, the sliders decide what % of the threats you encounter will be of the anomaly kind. If you set both to 50% for example, then 50% of the major threats the storyteller sends you will be from anomaly, no matter the state of the monolith.
If you want an "ambient horror" feel while keeping the monolith, I'd say change the anomaly threats (active) slider so it's the same as inactive and then activate the monolith. That way the monolith won't hijack your entire playthrough because the rates aren't so high (unless you set it high).

Just realized, I've got a bunch of mods installed that are updated to 1.6 but wont work in Odyssey just because of the nature of them.
Dubs Bad Hygiene is an example. It needs you to pump water out of the ground, and there is no ground in space and I'm guessing asteroid bases wont have underground water either. Rimefeller is another one that requires a ground to work. The Hospitality mods aren't going to work well in space either (and have been abandoned now so wont be updated anymore anyway).

Damn, adding space travel, as limited as it is will totally fuck with a bunch of mods even if they technically have 1.6 support. Some just mean you will miss out on features (but suffer the lag from them) while others like bad hygiene will fuck you over if you use them.

Anomaly should start through the Strange Signal quest by default, with a map Monolith being optional for quicker content. Same with mechlink quest, with optional strider. Anima tree should come by its sprout quest, and it shouldn't come at all if no one can has the backstory to meditate on it. Garulean Tree is already not there by default and only comes by event, as it should be.

And with Odyessy, the majority of these, including strider, should be POI tiles you have to travel to.

The ones in the bottom left charge nearby batteries over time, and that's how power for the whole base is generated.
It's incredibly inefficient compared to just using heaters and chemfuel generators, but it was a fun infrastructure challenge to try and get it to work.
I wanted to use the gene for insect jelly production as my means of getting food, but it's a pain in the ass to automate because the jelly gets dropped on the floor when produced and immediately reserved for prisoners, since its on the floor in a prison.

the food situation is getting pretty bad, i sold most of my crops to bribe the nearby settlements (it was worth it) and had to slaughter the horses to feed the colony.

A bug infestation opened right next to my storage. It cost an arm, a leg, and two huskies but I cleared it. Thankfully metal spears have pretty good armor penetration and I had enough of those from raids. The bows were pretty much useless, aside from flamings arrows. The bugs set off pretty much every single trap I had.
Unfortunately, the other bugs joined the fight too. So their protection is gone now. Because I killed them.

Not really. It does mean you can ignore wealth and hoard everything but it adds time pressure. Instead of making sure that your defenses are adequate for your wealth, you have to make sure your defenses match the games expectations for your colony's age.
I've tried wealth independent a few times and I didn't find much difference. I had one run fail because I got too far behind the curve though. That wouldn't have happened with the normal mode.

The M125 got one good hit on them with a 81mm shell, otherwise it's pretty ineffective for a god damn mortar firing HE shells. Its effective range is pitiful.
The shells fired from it really don't explode like I expect either so it may actually be a mod conflict causing its fired shells to behave like vanilla instead of the fragmentation spewing CE shells I see fired from regular stationary mortars. Likewise it might be the same reason its effective range is so short, despite its actual firing range being like 4 times the distance. Also the M125's description says it carries a 120mm mortar but it's only capable of firing 81mm shells.
It's a shame because all the other tanks I have do not have this problem at all. Like if anything gets hit by the M1's main gun, pretty much anything short of a centipede is fucking dead 10 times over.

Tanks overwhelmed the mechs again, though the M1 is badly damaged. The M48 came in clutch with its 105mm gun. Thought it was kinda weak with how brittle it is but that gun can fuck up a centipede as much as the M1 can.
The Bradley's TOW missiles are handy too.

Currently getting the bug where faction generation throws a reference not set error and causes the world to generate with only a handful of factions and settlements and the rest missing, and the log has no helpful information, meaning I'm gonna have to troubleshoot by just trying to disable batches of mods until I find the cause, before I go at it blindly anyone know offhand of any particular mods or incompatibilities that cause this problem?

Raids are spontaneously generated near your settlement when the archotech feels like messing with you, they're not real. Ever notice how their real faction bases only has at most 20 people in it even when they can send 150+ people in a single raid? Because those people are real, while the ones raiding your base are not.

I found this old mod called "Yuran Hentai Prime", seems to be an abandoned gook coomer mod. It also need this mod called "Apparel BodyType Resolver"
I don't know what exactly I need to configure for its table or what it even does, because I'm constantly getting random texture errors so
I looked into the clothing xml the mod had YuranRaceMod/Defs/ThingDef_Apparel/AP.xml) and it was missing commonality/generation chance, as well as gender restriction tags , which was causing all raiders to wear the tentacle armor regardless of gender so I added those and the raiders stopped causing errors. There are still a few more I can't find and wish someone could fix emm
Besides those issues, there's these two new buttons the mod adds and it's annoying to see it on every pawn- how can I remove them?
