For me, at least, Kris better have a good reason as to why they are working with the knight. Ignoring all the player shenanigans, characters like Tenna and Jackenstein are potentially killed if the player does not intervene. Working with the knight is also endangering his friends and family. Undyne is being sacrificed next week as well. Don't forget. If he's being an edgy teen, of course, I'm gonna knock his block off.

This is less a prediction and more an opinion. But as soon as Toby added the diagetic Player plotline he basically made successfully saving Dess the only coherent path for the story to take. It's also apparent Spamton reaped all the benefits from their collab which lead to Tenna becoming desperate to learn Spamton's secret. But they were both manipulating eachother and happened to catch feelings, leading to both of them feeling betrayed.
If Tenna was fully well intentioned, he would've ran after Spamton instead of reaching for the phone himself. I think part of Spamton's resentment comes from how Tenna didn't try to reach out to him while he was spiraling. Tenna was all caught up in how he was being manipulated the whole time and didn't want anything to do with Spamton anymore.
Spamton sucks even more though, for apparently knowing about Tenna's mental decline(the broken home dialogue) and just hoping he suffers to the point of wanting to die.
Like, neither of them have the empathy to consider what drove the other to do the things that they did.
By the way Tenna was also just an asshole to Ramb-the only guy who had Kris's best interest in mind. We don't criticize him enough for that.
