not snake but you probably should be using Obody NG to change NPCs bodies to presets you like.
If for whatever reason Obody NG isn't working on an NPC it's probably because they're using a different body type. For instance your clothes mod might be using 3BA but the NPC's body type is not 3BA. So if they're wearing a 3BA outfit it will change their body to look 3BA, but if they're naked they will go back to whatever non-3BA outfit you have.

After updating enb to the new one from something from 2 years ago, the performance and stutter improved immensely(on Linux), however I got issue that in some places outside ground is covered in square patches of something that looks like reflection layer from the snow, this layer is displayed only on upper half of the screen so when I move the screen the whatever is in the bottom half looks normal. I disagree with the motivations you ascribe to the Thalmor. I am part of the "Thalmor want to destroy reality" camp. The key point I believe you are missing when you talk about the Thalmor attempting to bring back a "Merethic Era" is whether or not the Thalmor themselves believe they can actually accomplish that. And the answer to that question I believe is ultimately "No".

The key reason for that is this: The Crystal Tower is destroyed.

The Crystal Tower is where the Altmer kept every bit of knowledge that was important to them. Culture, history, religion, family trees, everything that was ever sacred or worthwhile to them. It's all gone. Nothing left but fragments. The Mer who are in charge of the Thalmor would understand they cannot bring back a Merethic Era any more than they can repair the Crystal Tower. It will never again be as it was, and they are fucking PISSED about it.


Now I want to be clear. I'm talking about the Thalmor who are IN CHARGE, and, as of now, we don't know anything about them. The highest ranking Thalmor we've ever seen are the dignitaries who have had the misfortune of being sent to the other side of the world. I have no doubt that a very vast majority of the Thalmor population (soldiers, administrators, citizens) do actually believe all the Thalmor are trying to do is bring back Elven Supremacy, and save the Elves place in the world. I'd bet they are being duped by whoever is truly in control of the Third Aldmeri Dominion. And that whoever IS in control would be your typical mustache-twirling-destroy-the-world type villain. Possibly a group of them.

I also believe the main reason the Thalmor have adopted the strategy of Infilitration in Skyrim is because they lacked the knowledge of how to successfully disable the Snow Tower. I mean it's a big fucking mountain on the other side of the world whose "stone" is a wound in time that no elf has ever even seen. AND all their records are, again, gone. They would still be using the strategy of Total War if they believed it could be successful. But if I'm right about their goal being the Erasure of Mundus, they cannot afford to allow the chance of even one Tower still standing.


My final reason for why I believe the Thalmor are trying to destroy the world is meta. If there isn't powerful elf wizard with a solid plan of how to destroy everything within the Thalmor ranks - Who's gonna be the BBEG for TES6? I don't believe for a second that the stakes are going to be lowered when there has been a reality-ending threat in 3, 4, and 5.

The Adamantine Tower will be the final tower standing. The Thalmor will be going after it with the Redguards in their way. The Empire is but a wild-card played through the political intrigue of High Rock. Maybe the Orcs save the day. This is the stage that TES6 will play out on.

I certainly can't guarantee I'm right, and almost all your points about an unreliable narrator and reality shifting to accommodate the story the devs want to tell is absolutely correct. I just disagree, and wanted to type about it. And just so you are aware I die on this hill
