Here's the trick, anon. Never prefarm for any character. Don't farm their echoes, their asc mats, their upgrade mats, everything.
If you do, you're obviously letting Kuro know you're planning to pull for that character, and they will slide your UID into the LIONED list. If you don't prefarm anything, Kuro won't be able to tell which character you want, and you will easily beat the 50/50 system. You can thank me later.

It does mean exactly that, you're only limited by the time you're willing to spend. You still need shit to actually level up those echoes.

You need to mostly do tacet fields to gain the EXP items for leveling your echoes, but as a newbie you'll be swimming in materials from playing the story/permanent events and other map shenanigans, so no need to worry about that too much. Beyond that, you're free to farm the echoes themselves as much as you want to. There's also a nice bump at Union Level 40 where you can start using Modifiers to pick main stats on non-leveled echoes.

You just get a full set and don't grind before you get 100% gold (5*) drops for echoes. So first you play pokemon and get every echo as you advance in the story up to databank lvl 20.

You can get near infinite echoes with the right mainstat, but they don't have any substat so if you got a ton of those you just level them up to +5 or +10 to fish crit substat (you can have crit primary and 2 crit substats) and delete them if you don't. You're still limited by tubes and tuners for the leveling up.

I find it faster to gear here than in genshin, since you can stock tuners, tubes, main stat selectors and echo boxes to get even new sets right away. Everyone has bad memories taking many months up to a year trying to get a good raiden embled set while in wuwa you can have something ready in one day. Though you don't have an off-set option similarly to star rail (except phrolova for some reason whose set is 3 part), and as always you can get majorly fucked by RNG so everyone's experience will be different.

I dropped genshin back in 2.6, but I know I spent two months without getting an even decent set for 1 character. On wuwa I have never spent more than 2 weeks to get a good set for a character. I can still clear endgames (holograms, ToA, whiwa) with shit substats (2000 atk, 70% crit rate, 200% crit damage) so between 1 to 2 weeks per character, and a team only has 3 characters.

In genshin I once spend 1 month trying to get a main stat piece for hu tao, gave up, spend another month trying to get one for eula, then gave up again.
