You can explore the new custom zones and quests. You can group up with anons to clear a dungeon or elite area. You can fish! You can even log off for a couple of days and come back to continue your adventures on Azeroth - regardless of the server.

There's no need to prove to anons you can "parse", that you can speed clear, farm every niche consumable, or call anyone else a "shitter".

That's what I liked about Mistblade and early Turtle guilds. I think Epoch will filter out those types of people.

How different are the classes in Epoch from their TBC counterparts? From their website they look pretty similar, are there more changes only documented in Discord or something?

My plan is to go half XP and I want to do every dungeon at least once, so pausing my levelling journey until I finish the level appropriate dungeon.
I expect this will force me to travel a lot (and hopefully group with some anons) and I pray the half XP makes it more achievable without me holding back overmuch. Levelling in a healing spec will be slow anyway.

Warlocks are less useful on Epoch since summoning stones actually work. Still, healthstone, soulstone, the ability to bring out a voidhunter when the tank goes down and save the group from a wipe is still pretty cool.

Druids are discount warriors, rogues and priests in one. You have a bit of each their utility. Small stuns like a rogue, the ability to tank a bunch of heavy hits and a charge like a warrior, ability to (off)heal when necessary like a priest. You also get some unique buffs, one which decreases a lot of enemy armor and another which helps any tank with holding aggro. Oh and a battle resurrection which can be massive if timed well.

Priests are the premier healers in vanilla, any dungeon group would always prefer a priest over any other healer. People will expect you to heal. You bring arguably the strongest (Stamina) buff in the game, and can also help casters with a large Spirit buff. A good priest never goes out of Mana either with proper Shadow Tap management. On Epoch you get the ability to summon Holy Water, which is a free anti-undead consumable you can share with the party. Fear Ward is also universal among all Priest races on Epoch and is incredibly important in raiding.

Shamans are support kings, you have an answer for any situation. Quick interrupts with Rank 1 Earth Shock, an AoE fear ward, agility and spell damage totems, strong off-heals, burst damage, AoE damage, Windfury which will make any melee party member happy. You also have reincarnation, meaning if your party wipes you can use an Ankh to revive yourself and then the others, saving a lot of time and party morale.

Pick whichever aesthetic or playstyle you like most, all four are usually some of the most requested classes in Vanilla. With endgame raiding it's usually Healers > Ranged DPS > Tanks >>>>>> Melee DPS (which almost guaranteed are the most popular classes).

Honestly might just quit WoW. Blizzard's version is unplayable. Then there's too many private servers. I'm already investing time leveling on turtie, which is super slow on it's own. Then I'm excited for Pochie, despite some res flags. Now I just also saw some Ascension Bronzebears announcement and that looks like the best server ever. I can't level on all of these. By the time I'm 60 on squirtle, Pochie is out. By the time I'm 60 on there, Bronzebeard is out. Who knows what's out after. The pserver community isn't even big enough to populate all of these servers.

So squirtle has a rested exp buff and the pvp flag exp buff for leveling QoL, but what does Pochie have? So far I've only seen a shitty 5% for the pvp thing and other than that a an actuall debuff in terms of killing speed. At this rate I might just not get to 60 on Poch. Vanilla leveling is fun the first few times, then becomes an aids chore. Anyone who disagrees is a nigger and a german.

To be fair, i think Duskhaven was only 1 or 2 devs back when they first launched. Now they got a ton of developers from what was Forged, i'm honestly still optimistic about the server. Even if they decided to go a bit far towards retail.

In a 5 man party only the party leader can mark targets.
In a 10+ man raid anyone who is given assist can mark.

I think the tank is almost always automatically given party leadership - if it goes to someone else, it might be because they were the leader of a smaller party that queued.
